• FPS drop since Update.

I heard that also other people had a fps drop since the update. So my question is, will there be any fixes in the next update or do i have to lower my settings?
Nobody knows. People complained about FPS drops in earlier updates but (I guess) never got any fixes that really solved the FPS problems. I can't complain because luckily the game always runs smooth on my computer.
I only see it if im on full servers with over 30 players, so it isnt so bad but still sucks.
The new maps have optimisation issues, play a original tf2 map like ARENA_sawmill, then play... say CTF_sawmill. I noticed a 10fps drop between the two.
Call me dumb, but maybe the rain effect in sawmill is giving you a lower fps?
The rain effect is there on both maps, but the CTF version gives 10 fps less than the ARENA version.
I get quite the FPS drop on Viaduct with my GTX285
I also realised more fps drops on the new maps. Like the one with snow.
Am I the only one who got an FPS increase?
Nope, that "Classless update poll" showed like, 20 percent of people noticing a performance increase.
I couldn't tell. [editline]10:49AM[/editline]
I get quite the FPS drop on Viaduct with my GTX285
I get that too but that's probably because I turn off the low detail distance render.
^Low detail distance render? That's an option?
^Low detail distance render? That's an option?
Console command. Change r_lod -1 to r_lod 0.
Oh. Level of detail. Does that make it look better?
Oh. Level of detail. Does that make it look better?
I don't know. I did it because it annoys me when a dead medic's gown or whatever changes constantly when getting closer or farther to it.
Yeah. Always with the medic gowns.
