Please explain to me why weapons are as rare for hats but only in my case - Games

Am I the only one with a problem in which I get weapons at a very uncommon rate? It's really starting to piss me off that I can't get weapons, let alone hats. It'd be nice if my weapon drops were as common as that of pretty much everyone else on the planet, because I really want the new chocolate bar and the Homewrecker. If there's a reasonable explanation to my very uncommon weapon drops, I'd like to hear it, I don't want to have to think that Valve hates me for no reason.

Hell, its random, you are just unlucky. I even idled for 8 fucking hours, and I already checked what I would get in tf2items, and it showed 5 items before the 8 hour idle, and after that, i didn't get anything. Seems like I am very unlucky since I also get gunboats most of the fucking time.

Yeah, i get less weapons but more hats...... i like it this way :v:

I didn't idle (just played) yesterday and found 4 weapons and crafted a wig for the spy... this is the most amount of drops I've had since last year.

Whenever my computer is on and I'm not playing a steam game, I have textmode (-textmode -nosound -nopreload -noshaderap -novid) turned on while in an idle server. So far I've only gotten three regular milestone weapons. Yesterday I idled for five hours and I didn't get anything. I raged.

When im lucky my droprate is at about 1 item every 2 hours

Valve really fucked up the drop system.

VALVe likes me for some reason. Idled for about 9 hours and got: 1x Sandman 1x Pain Train 1x Eyelander 2x Dalokohs Bars 1x Backburner 1x Flare Gun 1x Shooter's Sola Topi here, have some of my chocolate ;)

They should have made normal milestone weapons 100% droppable after 30 minutes then community ones 70% droppable after 30 minutes and hats community or normal ones 5% on 1 hour

In technicality, it is still cheating to do what some people are working hard to get. And even then, the luck factor would still be extremely annoying, as some are very lucky while others aren't. Obtaining items through luck or idling needs to be removed for an successful item system. Unless both the luck and idle factor are gone, the item system can be easily abused. I idle because I hate the system in whole, but I still love the game.

I rarely get anything either. After i got my second Cam beard and KGB, leaving me with only a half a page of stuff, I have idled for about 48 hours and still NOTHING.

I've idled for roughly 600 hours and have found 3 hats, and was able to craft 4 hats with refined metals. I've rebuilt some headgear to land me in a total of 5 actual hats. I have nearly 1000 hours overall on my TF2, and only 5 actual fucking hats. Christ. Valve really needs to fix this shitty drop system. I've seen guys with like 200 hours who have 36 god damn hats.

I might actually try idling one of these days.
