I had this problem before, and it came back again. the old fix i tried doesn't work. So i delete my tf2 folder, and i test it, it works. I put in my cfg files, it doesn't work. i take it out, it doesn't work. WTF?

I sometimes get randomly disconnected from servers with that error message.
look on steam support, it actually has good solutions. I remember a page having a fix for that.

It means the server does not understand your Steam validation or something like that, it always appears if you try to use TF2 SrcDS and join it
