After about 5 minutes, my frame rate will drop from a steady 25fps to a crippling 1 - 3 fps.
I have contacted Steam support, but as usual, they were about as useful as a flammable fire extinguisher.
My graphics card is a pathetic Intel X3100.
I have sudden lockups since the last update :(
You're not the only one, me and another guy also got almost the same problem. I haven't found a fix myself yet.
Also, yeah. Since the updates there seem to be small lags for some reason. I tried changing my settings to the lowest ones but the lag still occurs. Must be something with the game.
X3100 is your problem not TF2.
That card is no where near good enough to play TF2.
I've been getting random lockups as stated above X1650 AGP.
All the sudden Intel X3100
My 4500MHD can't run TF2.
Ive started having fps drops as well...
For some reason reinstalling the game seems to fix up my super fps drops.
Happened to me a few mins ago when I joined a 2fort server I always played on. Checking my temps just to make sure its not that
well i had the same thing and i defraged my TF2 and its been doing well
4/5 times I tried to play last night, I locked up after 10 seconds of being on a server.
So yeah, this update is kinda fucked up.
I defragged my game twice and verified the cache once. So that might help.
We need an option to balance the load between the GPU and the CPU; I've got a 9600GT, which is more than enough for the game, but a poor AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ :frown:

Mine can, 15-60fps depending on the amount of players/particles
-windowed -width 1000 -height 625 -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -console
is all I have in launch options.
crappy ass pc cant play tf2 anymore it lags like hell the loadings insane might get a better one in this fall
Same. Before this update I would do fairly well with 50+, with drops to 30 or so. Now I average 35 and I drop to 1-3 for ~5 seconds.
Something is definitely botched. I'm running a 9600GSO w/ AMD 4800+.
I get alot of lost connection to server errors.
If you get on the game your lucky.
My game refuses to start.
I've noticed a drop in fps.
Normally my 9400GT sits happly at 30/60 fps but now it's like 20/30 and stutters like fuck.
I've had to drop down to dx8.1 to get something which is playable, tf2 was not like this before the update.
I can run it now, it doesn't drop in fps for me, but it doesn't let me on MP.

I beg to differ, I never go below 13FPS, average 22fps on Directx level 8.
Shop > NVidia.

Weird, I have the same card but it hasn't changed at all..
I have a 8400GS and I get hardly any FPS Drops. 20-30 fps is my normal amount.
But like KalebFTW said... (post #10) I defrag'd It after the update before I played TF2
Am I the only one here that can barely play TF2 at all yet experienced no FPS drop at all?
I don't know if any of you care, but I have found a fix, if anyone wants my autoexec.cfg file, http://www.filedropper.com/autoexec_2 here you go, but remember, it's set for dual core users. (Optional for increase in FPS)
Turn everything down or off, except textures and models, leave them high, the difference is miniature. (Set to taste)
When the game is loaded, ctrl + alt + dlt, find hl2.exe in the process, right click it, set affinity, and close the second processor. (Fixes the frame rate dropping issues)
As I said, I am on dual core, change to your specification.
