Whats this? A tf2 mod as in a real standalone mod game? http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-great-class-dash A Side scrolling game
The Great Class Dash is a single-player modification for Team Fortress 2 that transforms the game into a side-scrolling platformer. Players will have the chance to play four challenging levels. Additionally, the levels are filled with class-specific obstacles, meaning all nine classes will need to be used to beat the game. This is the first public release of The Great Class Dash. The mod turns Team Fortress into a platformer similar to the flash game Canabalt. The first level starts out with you controlling only the scout. The only control in this stage is jumping, and its relatively easy to clear all the obstacles and reach the end of the level. Later levels introduce more classes though, and in the end, you will have to quickly switch between all nine to reach the finish.
TRAILER http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-great-class-dash/videos/the-great-class-dash-release-trailer#imagebox EDIT: Installation is a bit different:
The Great Class Dash By Dylan 'Steaky' Loney INSTALATION: Place the tf file in Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/-USERNAME-/team fortress 2. Note: If you have the Swamp Pack from TF2Maps installed, it may ask you to overwrite some files. They are the same, so you can say yes or no. In order to play the game, simply open Team Fortress 2, press CREATE SERVER, and select ClassDash in the list. Alternatively, you can type MAP CLASSDASH in the console.
EDIT 2: This game resets your controls, in order to regain your controls you must type in the console EXEC MYBACKUP once you are finished.
WARNING: The game rebinds a number of important keys, and changes other game settings. The game automatically creates a backup of your settings, but I suggest that you make a second backup to be extra safe. In order to do this: 1) Open the Console with the ~ key. The console must be enabled in advanced keyboard options. 2) Type Host_Writeconfig Mybackup 3) Once finished playing, and having returned to the main menu, type EXEC MYBACKUP in the console.
Oh my god
How is this even possible? DO WANT!
Looks pretty good.
This needs a spot on the blog.
Interesting.
Yeah I saw this. Looks pretty good, tbh.
Updated OP with instructions, its not actually a sourcemod rather a map pack.
Is it possible to play this online? I'd kind of like to see what happens.
I cannot stress the need to read the directions since it will change your controls while you play this mod.
super mario nostalgia. D = Right A = Left W = Jump S = Crouch. Oh fuck yeah!
It is a really neat mod but it seems to be rather buggy in a few places, also on't use sandvich or it will freeze you in place
Mario Fortress 2.
It's like Canabalt, and you have to switch classes in order to overcome certain challenges. The swamp stage is a lot of instincts, and you have to be real good at quick switching to get past areas. Scout double jumps - introduced in the Canada stage. Heavy breaks through certain walls - introduced in the Egypt stage. Sniper intimidates animals, allowing you to pass by them - introduced in the Egypt stage. Pyro can walk through bug swarms and steam - introduced in the Volcano stage. Medic can walk by injured teammates to heal them (if you don't heal them you go back to the checkpoint) - introduced in the Volcano stage. Demoman can pass by sticky traps uninjured - introduced in the Swamp stage. Engineer teleports if he walks over teleports - introduced in the Swamp stage. Soldier immediately starts to fire rockets when you switch to him, and is the only way to defeat the Swamp Monster - introduced in the Swamp stage.
Looks somewhat like Trine
Looks somewhat like Trine
My thoughts exactly.
Just finished it, that was awesome. [editline]02:26AM[/editline] Not at all what I was expecting. The last level was very hard.
some need to make a 3d gang garrison out of this mod
There already is one. it's called "TF2".
There already is one. it's called "TF2".
With the low resolution models mod, of course.
fuck they took my idea, i had it all planned out :( eh ill still make mine
Why make a competing mod when you could just build off of their perfectly functional mod?
There already is one. it's called "TF2".
TF2 is a mod of TF2? :psyboom:
This is DELICIOUS!
Is there any combat in this?
The trailer sucked, it didn't showcase anything but running and changing classes. Looks cool though.
i'm remember seeing this about 4 weeks ago and all I saw was that it looked like a boring platformer and didn't look interesting, idk i guess it looks good to some people, guess that's all that matters
...oh.....my.......Gaw-:gizz:
The trailer sucked, it didn't showcase anything but running and changing classes. Looks cool though.
That's exactly what it is, though.
Wait, there's no combat?
