Simple/stupid mistakes you know you should never make (but still do) - Games

Topic should be easy enough to understand. We all make mistakes. Some of them are really stupid. We know we shouldn't have made those mistakes, but we still do, and we keep doing it. Those moments that have you saying "Now, I know I shouldn't have done that...". Post yours. See if other people also make those mistakes. Simple. *Getting killed by the same Sentry over and over and over again, despite [I]definitely hearing it.[/I] *Running out of ammo while being Charged. *Activating UberCharge far far too early, when it really isn't useful.

Starting a melee fight with the fan o' war. God dammit.

Knifing someone in the front sometimes and therefore losing my disguise and get killed by a sentry which I know can see me. Still making this mistake after 900 hours of gameplay.

Typing stuff into chat and getting killed while doing so.

aiming at the players head with the rocket launcher, not their feet. DAMNIT.

Jump on grenades. I always fucking jump on grenades, I try to get an advantage by getting pushed forward by their explosion, but I always end up gibbed.

Trying to airblast rockets with a fps lower than 10. God damnit it keeps happening all the fucking time.

Dying from atomizer jumps.

Cloaking immediately after catching fire.

Using the Battalion's backup.

I keep forgetting to snipe the medic first. I'm always tempted by the chance that I could just take out that Heavy with one headshot and leave the medic for my team, but it never works.

Waiting too long to activate UberCharge and then getting killed because of it.

Standing still when attacking, which leaves me way too open for snipers.

*Play as Heavy, get stabbed several times by the same Spy, tell yourself at respawn to watch your back more often, still get stabbed

Trying to RJ onto the point on Nucleus, through that little gap between the "teeth" of the cover, not being able to and falling into the pit (though now I can usually get on the catwalk and grab the healthpack. Repeatedly falling off the stairs in the house on Viaduct, walking backwards. Bobbing like an idiot in the water trying to get the big health on Lakeside, never able to get out for some reason without four or five attempts (during which time a scout always takes the big health). [B][I]NEVER[/I][/B] landing the third revolver shot on that razorback sniper.

Waltzing into battle as a soldier or demoman. Wielding the rocket/sticky jumper.

As Demoknight, charge at a Heavy wielding Natascha. Repeatedly. Also, zerg-rush as Pyro with the Backburner equipped.

Thinking there's no spies around.

Disguising before using cloak, so the enemy can see the smoke particles when I'm cloaked. (Or has that been fixed?)

Playing spy and getting lit up by a pyro. Almost always I try to do an illusion to get away. For some reason, it doesn't click in my head that I'm on fire until I'm dead.

I have this horrible habit of switching from being the only Medic on the team to a Soldier or Demoman, then calling for a Medic...and realizing that I was the only Medic on the team and now there aren't any...

Trying to challenge a rifle sniper while you are using huntsman.

- Running at a spy as an engineer instead of keeping a mid distance so I don't get face stabbed all the time. - Not taking cover/ retreating. I almost never stay alive for more than 1:30 because of this. - Using the righteous bison , short circuit , crossbow or quick-fix in situations where they are impracticable and or useless just because I think they look pretty. - Even bothering playing medic when no one talks on this game anymore. - Pretty much everything as a scout. "Oh boy I've watched a ton of vids on how to play scout, time to put everything I've learnt to useOH GOD WHY AM I DYING SO MUCH!? I CAN DOUBLE JUMP?? WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?! CHRIST I CAN'T AIM FOR SHIT." - Equipping the sticky jumper instead of the bomb launcher. - Forgetting I can throw my sandvich/ use airblast. - Messing up my airblast timing. - Spending an hour and a half looking for servers playing hydro, only to realise why no one plays the bloody map. - Forgetting my priorities when getting ubered suddenly. ....Needless to say I'm pretty terrible at this game.

Running into a room with 5 people with my fists out

Spam 'MEDIC!' when disguised as a spy even though my disguise is at full health.

hah oh wow i thought this thread was in general discussion was about to write about life. So yeah when I'm medic and my partner dies I get so much self-confidence so I just rush there with my blutsauger and always die. And I know I will die.
