Hey I released this thing for people to mess around on non-objectively.

Yeah it's locked into day 1. There really isn't anything I can do about it because valve hasn't fixed color correction in tf2. I explain it pretty thoroughly here:

The water is also funky looking because apparently HDR breaks with expensive water. Neat...
Enjoy though.
Don't even think about spawning the headless horseman on this map, yeah don't try that I'm sure it would be no fun.
Oh look I made some items as well:

Holy shit, I have been secretly waiting for this, amazing!
Nice, I remember seeing this back in 2009, every day I was checking the thread for progress until that thread got locked.
Weird enough I was thinking about this map yesterday before going to sleep, and now today it gets released.
Really good work!

I'm just hoping I didn't miss any content when packing the BSP. I double checked but i'll wait until I here any complaints. The way n64 textures are, every tiny model or object has like 10 textures. And the entire map has at least 100.
dammit, makes me want to get the old version of hammer and hl1.

It seems to work fine for me, I see all the textures correctly and I hear the music.

Oh hey, the bell in the Laundry Pool area works, neat.

You should probably use func_door_rotating instead of sliding doors, sliding doors doesn't really fit in here.
This would make a cool payload map.
-snip-
Remember when I saw the video.
I had the weirdest boner.
You dont have idea how much I love you for this.
Needs more Jim.
I love you.
I can already see a trade_clocktown.
Make the music play backwards.
Add the dog! I want to shoot that damn fucking dog! I'll give him a lessonfor attacking me when I'm in dekuscrub form >:(
This is a stunning reproduction ! Good job !
This would kick all sorts of ass as a L4D2 Survival map.
Would be cool if you could destroy the pots in the next version. Also, if you could, i recommend to make all the .wav songs in the map into .mp3 as it takes would make the map not use such a big memory space.
I wanted to make the pots destructible but I wanted to push this out. Also MP3's aren't soundscape or loop friendly. So nope.
Make the music play backwards.
Oh man, that should totally be a Halloween event version of this map. "You shouldn't have done that" and random shit happens, BEN replaces the Horseless Headless Horsemann and people keep getting teleported.
Make the rest of the Termina landscape and I will cry.
Make the music play backwards.
I love that song. :v:
Would love to see some of the interiors added, maybe the milk bar or the general store with the creek in it at some point.
It would be nice to see the Mountains, the Stone Tower, and Woodfall in the distance if you get high enough in the map.
Very very amazing work.
I have read valve's developer wiki that it is indeed possible to loop MP3's, but a little more complicated.
Yeah but it's more suited to single player. If i used that method someone joining mid game would here nothing until the timer hit again. This way, the music can start for any single person at any time clientside whilst going in/out of the underground and can even have an intro and then loop after that.
MOTY
any servers with this?
i like cocktown
[editline]20th October 2011[/editline]
Wow, i fucking missed the l key. Dammit. Good map op, good luck.
I was expecting that sewer path to lead to the observatory. :v:
The song that plays in the blu spawn doesn't loop that well. It cuts off a little at the end, might need to work a little bit on that.
I'm going to take a lesson and valve and just say that it isn't noticeable enough to be worth changing. You won't notice it unless you're literally standing in spawn listening to the music alone on an empty server. It loops well enough.
You notice how that whenever you walk into the fairy fountain it does the intro to that song every time? then loops the rest of the track after that? That's all one file and was rather effortless to do. It works really well.
If I ever come back to this, sure maybe I'll clean that up but for now I couldn't care less. I might fix up some of the cubemap issues that cropped up later, but for now I'm just gonna sit back and relax.
In the mean time, try spawning the horseman.
