The map is a Halloween-ified Badwater Basin. After watching The Thing (80s), and having far too much snow on Halloween here in Pennsylvania, I decided to make it snow themed as well. Consider it... "between Halloween and Christmas" themed. Or I guess "Thanksgiving" themed. Oh and THANKS VALVE for finally adding halloween-themed support for Hammer, as well as uphill/downhill support for payload. Fist bump. But the main purpose of the map was to test this beauty of an idea here: Gameplay-wise, this creates a new challenge for both teams. The cart goes pretty fast with enough people on it, especially downhill (which, once a ramp is passed, blocks the cart from being pushed back up), but everyone pushing the cart has no way to defend themselves. As for the world itself, I've made a few changes around red's spawn. The biggest change is completely removing the bottom (secondary) spawn, which worked like this: After blue team captures point C, the top spawn was halved, with the other half got put on the bottom spawn. The bottom spawn was, to me, completely disadvantageous to the red team who at this point of the round needs MORE help than less. It has only one door to come out of, and you're forced to go completely up the ramp before you can get out of that little ditch the door is in. It's very easy to trap people in that spawn. Then you need to make your way to the battle, which you can do right out of the top spawn anyway with better time. Does this work or doesn't it work is also part of experimentation. Another two doors were created, one on a high point right next to one of the spawn doors that any class without bomb jumping could not get to before (you can see it in screenshot 4 above). The other door, which is closed/locked until point C is captured, has been created right across from the red spawn door into the "spiral ramp room". Anything else: Look out for some easter eggs, and be the first person to find all 9 class's heads in the map (to win absolutely nothing). Big groups and small groups, please.
Hm, looks neat. Downloaded.
Valve should've used THIS map instead.
who even plays tf2 anymore.. besides from a lot of ppl, but i can only wonder why.
who even plays tf2 anymore.. besides from a lot of ppl, but i can only wonder why.
dude what
just saying that tf2 is one big clusterfuck of a big children's birthday party. it's boring that's all..
just saying that tf2 is one big clusterfuck of a big children's birthday party. it's boring that's all..
TF2 is pretty big currently. It has been for a while
For me, TF2 is not boring but more or less of a game that enrages me.
God, every night version of maps looks damn awesome. [editline]18th November 2011[/editline]
just saying that tf2 is one big clusterfuck of a big children's birthday party. it's boring that's all..
Stop playing in random pubs
I don't really get why the snow, it doesn't look too scary.
Stop playing in random pubs
Well I'd rather play in pubs than in some fun-servers with party heavys and lolscouts jerking off to each other
just saying that tf2 is one big clusterfuck of a big children's birthday party. it's boring that's all..
And you are one big crybaby.
Well I'd rather play in pubs than in some fun-servers with party heavys and lolscouts jerking off to each other
Your opinions/arguments/posts are rather dumb. I know, I shouldn't ctirticize someone's opinion, since, y'know, opinions are opinions and belong to oneself, but you really HAVE dumb opinions. Well, not really dumb opinions, but the argument you build your opinion in is dumb. And to all others: I'm sorry for being offtopic here and derailing this thread, but this had to be said I think.
his opinions differ from mine so he must be wrong
his opinions differ from mine so he must be wrong
I explained that I did NOT mean it this way. I rather meant the argument he uses to support his opinion is dumb.
Of course you can ctirticize my opinion.. How should I phrase it out then? Having played TF2 since beta more or less, these days I just find myself spamming shit being frustrated at the game and frankly, that's no fun. It's so old game too.. Fuck it, i'll go play a few rounds. Or maybe Skyrim..

This Map Looks Epic Good Job Suggestion *You Should Add Some Boss (HHH or Monoculus) Spawning this would be great :D*
This Map Looks Epic Good Job Suggestion *You Should Add Some Boss (HHH or Monoculus) Spawning this would be great :D*
Yeah Omg I Think So Too You *Are So Genius Omg :D*
Does this debate about whether TF2 is still fun to play or not really have anything to do with anything in this thread, guys? Is there a reason why you even brought this up in this thread, in the TF2 sub forum? Cut the trolling and just remove yourself from the thread, Bat-shit, as a big favor to me, and nothing else really has to be said on the matter. Thanks.
Yeah Omg I Think So Too You *Are So Genius Omg :D*
I Think It Is A Brilliant Idea So Cool XD!!!!!
I Capitalized Every Word In This Sentence *This Thread Is Getting Off The Rails* -_-
Pros: OMG 1337 Cons: NO HORSEMANNN CUNTFAEC Improvements: ^^^^^^^^^^^
The payload idea is very neat. Great work !
Okay, you watched the thing, and didn't think of a Thing-based monster? For shame... :P Still, liking the payload, would make the game a bit more interesting.
should have a horsemann spawning on each checkpoint that gets captured you can do it with mapping, no need to rely on halloween mode.
should have a horsemann spawning on each checkpoint that gets captured you can do it with mapping, no need to rely on halloween mode.
but i didn't want it to be a boss raid map.
well okay parenting a stun trigger around your cart made me think you'd like the other goofy halloween aspects
Stun on the cart sounds kinda weird though, makes the cart pushers sitting ducks.
