recently, when i try to play TF2, i can't connect to any servers, and this game (no others) throws my internet connection. i have no clue what's going on, and i really wanna PLAY TF2.... did anybody else have problems like this? i could really use some help...ill appreciate it so much.... Edit: sometimes i can play and sometimes i cant. sometimes it completely throws it and sometimes it comes back after a few minutes.
This same thing has been happening to me as well. When I start up TF2 it can't find any servers but if I wait 10 minutes it can suddenly find them. If someone could help I would appreciate it as well.

My fix is to use the server browser out of game and filter to history for all games, it stops it going off then.
This happens to me aswell, whenever I refresh the server list or attempt to connect, it drops the connection to my router. :smith:

how do you use the server browser out of game? edit: there must be a fix for this problem if so many people are having it.....
I have fixed this by forwarding the ports on my router, but the problem is port forwarding only works for 1 computer
i will try all of the contributor's solutions, and encourage all those who are having trouble to give them a try. thank you all
ok guys, what SEEMS to have fixed it for me is this: i'm using a wired internet connection, and i disabled the wireless
[del]I don't see any servers on the server list, either. I'm using a WIRED connection, and my ports ARE forwarded. Can we please have an actual solution? :saddowns:[/del] Never mind. I actually do see servers on the server list now, for some reason.
This sometimes happens to be for all STEAM used games
This happens to me, too, but my internet just sucks.
I believe the problem you have, is the same one I had that sprung up around the Engineer update. Whenever you use the server list, some types of modem/routers will overload and either slow down the internet or completely kick you off. The only way around it that I know of, is to manually connect to a server using the console command "connect IP-address". Try that and see if it works, if it does I'd keep a word document file on your desktop that lists all of the server IP addresses that you need.
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4487-YUOC-6922 This fixed the issue for me. Used to have this issue. Changed through 3 anti-viruses thinking that to be the problem. Looked it up some more and found this. 6000 to 7000 is around where I have mine set.
