• Question from people who had their models accepted by Valve. (file setup/general)

Hello, I'm new here. I read the "read before posting" thread and this is a very strict board. Which I like because it will keep everything clean. However I'm not sure if this question can go here, if not, please let me know where to post it or if someone can move it. Last time I checked, I was not able to delete a thread. Also I don't want to keep posting to the Emporium since that thread seems to be for WIP or finished work and not questions, but crits/opinions instead. Question: Does Valve adjust any parameters when you submit something to them? or do they expect a fully finished/polished package? I'm talking more specifically about collision/physics/animation speed etc. Would they tweak a couple of things if it needs tweaking? The reason I ask this is because I'm an artist, not a programmer and I've spent more time trying to figure out the .qc commands and fighting with programs instead of modeling or animating. For example if the $illumposition is completely off, would they just update the number? or fix the phymodel.smd ? Thank you for your time.
If something needs tweaking and they decide to use your model then they will tweak it. Hell, they even re-unwrapped and re-textured the Hermes.

Valve will generally take your model and reposition it so that it clips with EVERYTHING. Then they'll spend ages trying to fix it before finally returning it to the original position.
Cool, thanks a lot. Also as far as making something "Paintable" or not, that should be a quick fix right? (no pun intended) If they decide they want to, I guess it will be up to them. For now, I guess I won't bother with it. Thanks again
From my experience they'll ask you to do anything that needs doing first. If you're unresponsive or incapable of doing what's required then they'll do it themselves if they still plan to use it.

Almost all of them are undesirable in their current state.

When you exported your hats were they positioned so that when they were weighted the bip_head bone was located at 0,0,0?
Yeah Worth mentioning this was pre-workshop, btw
They need to fix the fucking clipping, however
I fixed the clipping my self and uploaded it to the emporium. I sent an email to them about the best way to submit contributor fixes but haven't received a reply. Here's a direct link to the fix for you. http://www.mediafire.com/?pphdk8el405kpmb
they pretty much downgrade everything look at the warrior spirit bad origin and lower texture res
Don't forget removing the custom animations.
