• Debate: Demo's Fro a Hat or Hatless?

The Demoman's Fro: Hat or Hatless? There has been quite a debate on whether the Demo's Fro should be considered a hatless hat, or a normal hat. Many have said either side. I for one first believed it was a hatless, but then evidence piled up against me and I realized it could be a hat. But now I'm just plain unsure and I've always been thinking about this ever since the hatless hats were released. Evidence of it being a hat: 1. On the cover of the Hat-Wearing Man Magazine, there's a debate referring to whether headbands are the newest hat or not. This is obviously referring to the headband around the Demo's Fro. 2. Why would a man with no hat be on the cover of the Hat-Wearing Man Magazine? 3. Unlike Baseball Bill's Sportshine and the other hatless hats, the Demo's Fro actually adds something to the default model, while the hatless hats remove something. 4. If the Demo's Fro is a hatless, wouldn't that make the Master's Yellow Belt a hatless? Evidence of it being a hatless: 1. The Demoman's Fro bucket icon consists of a corpseless head showing off a neutral emotion. The only other items in the game that are like this are the hatless hats: Baseball Bill's Sportshine, Texas Slim's Dome Shine, and Ritzy Rick's Hair Fixative. 2. If the Demo's Fro were to be a wig, it's bucket icon would be similar to that of the Magistrate's Mullet. 3. Just about every hat in TF2 falls off their wearer's head upon death; excluding Mining Light, Trophy Belt, Master's Yellow Belt, Respectless Rubber Glove, and Triboniophorus Tyrannus. All these hats obviously grip onto their wearer's head in order to not fall of. The Demo's Fro doesn't fall off, therefore it must have some type of grip on the Demo's head in order to stay on. So I'll leave it to you, fans of TF2. Is the Demo's Fro a hat? Or a hatless? Discuss.
its a hat [editline]11:19PM[/editline] just like magistrate's mullet demo couldn't hold a fro and headband under his skullcap, so he has to put it on even if its regular hair, its added to demo's model, so its a hat
Crap, I forgot to add a poll before making the thread. Oh well I guess.
It's a hat.

Hat, end of discussion.
I think of it as hatless.
If it was hatless, the .mdl file for the Afro wouldn't be located in models\player\items\demo
HEADBANDS: tHE NEW HATS? The hat is actually the Headband but we don't normally see the scottish black guy with an afro makiing the hat itself his hair
If it was hatless, the .mdl file for the Afro wouldn't be located in models\player\items\demo
ding ding ding
It's a TOUPEE IT IS BOTH AT THE SAME TIME, FUCK SCHROEDINGER
its a hat [editline]11:19PM[/editline] just like magistrate's mullet demo couldn't hold a fro and headband under his skullcap, so he has to put it on even if its regular hair, its added to demo's model, so its a hat
By that logic you could say that all hatless hats are in fact hats, because they all add to the players model. The Engi, Sniper and Scout hatless hats are actually high-res hairstyles, placed on top of their existing head.
FUCK SCHROEDINGER
What if you cut it in half?
I'd say hat. Assuming he doesn't have a fro packed in that beanie of his.
Hatless, it removes his beanie, releasing his massive fro. Maybe the headband was underneath it.
I think that it's all in the name. Since it's called "Demoman's Fro'" it's a hatless. If it were called "Hipster's Headband" or anything referring the the headband, then it's would be a hat. At least, that's what I think.
Who cares.
Hat
Who cares.
.
It is a hat. The bald "hats" are also hats. That is why Valve refers to them as hats. Thank you for your time.
Hat. /thread
Since this started between Keychain and NeoDement, from the facts that i gathered, It is a Hat.
Who cares.
/thread
It comes down to naming. "Demoman's Fro" references hair, so I would assume it to be hatless. If it was called "Demoman's explosive headband" or something similar it would be a hat.
I own one.
You can see the skull cap under the fro if you look close. Hat
Is this even worth it to discus this?
How the hell is such a mundane question worth a thread, or even a debate? It doesn't matter. All that matters is that it fits into the hat slot.
Heh, I don't see Daimao and Neo saying it's a hatless now.
Give it a rest already Keychain.
