I am typing this within my game. So try to excuse any small mistakes.
Is there any way to make a server I make go online, till atleast I shut it down? I dont need it to be dedicated, just intill i decide to leave, causing the server to go down. I am assuming it is done with a few console commands.
Yep that's how I idle. Anyways, heres a few steps that I do:
First forward your ports both udp/tcp on 27015.
After Go in game and toggle commands such as:
hostname "name of your server"
maxplayers "depends on your connection"
sv_lan 0
sv_pure 1
map "name of map"
I'll post a list of commands once I find the cfg I made for it.
Heres my cfg
hostname "Serious Idling Buisness Here"
sv_password "srsbuziness"
mp_autoteambalance 16
mp_timelimit 9001
mp_allowspectators 1
mp_friendlyfire 0
mp_footsteps 1
sv_cheats 0
sv_alltalk 0
sv_region 1
sv_pure 1
sv_lan 0
mp_idledealmethod 0
sv_pure_kick_clients 0
mp_winlimit 0
tf_birthday 1
maxplayers 10
You can edit to your liking and when your done just do map "map name" in console and itll start up.
How do I forward the ports?
This website can help you:

Basically if you have a router that your admin of go to your 192.168.64.XXX
Then go to your gaming settings if you have it and forward both tcp/udp and enter from 27015 to 27015.
Really it depends on which router you have if you have one.
Ah, well I am not admin, and i cant go and ask without suspicion. Plus the router is tempermentaL.
i have a question, what does the tf_birthday do?
It toggles birthday hats and gibs being presents etc.
If you want to join my server will be up for 3-4 more hours or till I am going to bed.
connect 68.2.84.83:27015 in console
