Why are there two PDAs? - Games

I have been playing TF2 on my PS3 Recently and wondered.... [I]"Why do they have seperate PDAs for building and destroying? I can make sentrys just fine!" But really, why did they seperate the PDA into 2?[/I]

HE PLAYS TF2 ON PS3 WHAT A FAG Seriously, get it on PC, it'll run it no matter what, even if you are running it on minimum settings and disabled textures and loads of shit it's still better than the console version. I honestly didn't know TF2 was on consoles, that must suck some hard balls. ontopic. why not? it's a lot easier than going through 2 other options.

They made it easier so the console using 12-year olds does not get confused.

The list goes on.

EDIT: Also, Engy actually has 3 PDAs. 2 of which are usable at any point.

I recall (in the 360 version at least) that the items for a class were all "hotkeyed" to a direction on the otherwise unused control pad, so if both PDA's were used the Engineer wouldn't have been able to quickswitch between everything he had that way. On the PC? I dunno. Maybe they didn't want to set keys aside specifically for destroying buildings with the PDA, like the Spy with lastdisguise/changeteamcolor?

It would be simpler if it was "Press 1 to build" and then on the same screen "Press 1 to destroy" if you already have it built. I think that they kept it this way for the nostalgia factor though.

Go into a local server, turn cheats on, and type test_itempickuppanel which will show you the weapons you have equipped at that moment - all of them. You can use that see he actually has 2 destroy PDAs, and I believe the unused second one is a remnant from the PS3's version - the "Engineering" PDA.
