I had a f2p trade with me yesterday. It seems they are only able to trade items FROM OTHER PEOPLE.
They cant trade items they get from drops/achivements but if someone gives them a item its tradable for them. Dont ask how, I got a armoured authority from some F2P who wanted mad milk. I said it wouldnt trade the items, lo and behold I ended up with his hat which someone had given him.

actually, ftp's can trade paint and name tags as far as I know (even if they were drops that they found)
