• Is there a way to make a spray on a Mac?

So it would seem that I am unable to make tf2 sprays on map, because the only programs that can convert the file type to the necessary format are for windows. furthermore, the file directory viewer thing in tf2 when selecting a spray is so screwed up that it's impossible to reach anywhere that the sprays would be. So is there a way?
http://tf2.explodingjelly.com/create or use Photoshop and make a tga/jpg/png file.
cool, thanks! now does anyone know how i can actually access it? as i said, it's totally screwed up; it only shows me like 4 random folders with practically nothing in them, and no way to go up in the filesystem.
1) Sell your mac 2) Profit 3) Buy a real computer.
1) Sell your mac 2) Profit 3) Buy a real computer.
Obligatory "lol mac get a real computer" post. I would help OP if I could, but every time I use a Mac myself I get so god damn confused. If it's any help and a Mac works somewhat like a Windows when it comes to folders there's always; Computer > (C:) > Programs (x86) > Steam > steamapps > [Your Steam Username] > team fortress 2 > tf > materials > vgui > logos. I'm not sure if this will help in any way, but what do I know :v:
Alright, well thanks, but it would seem that it's working now, for whatever reason. Also, to add to the mac/pc debate, macs are no doubt more stable, well built, user friendly computers. the problem is that nobody likes to write programs for them, and many of the programs that are written for mac are poorly written. for example, the Steam client takes up 35% of my 4GB ram while it's inactive.
really

Place .tga's in your home folder, the /vgui/logos folder never works.

i have now installed windows on my computer. it is certainly a lot more annoying and glitchy than mac. also, the organization is stupid. at least i can finally play my windows games, though
i have now installed windows on my computer. it is certainly a lot more annoying and glitchy than mac. also, the organization is stupid. at least i can finally play my windows games, though
running Windows on a Mac will probably cause you even more problems.
running Windows on a Mac will probably cause you even more problems.
OSX 10 can boot up as either a windows machine or a Mac, it doesn't take much effort to do, it only involves a few steps, partitioning the drive and installing windows normally on the new partition. He' s probably not emulating if that's what you're thinking although he will have problems if he's on a Macbook Pro since windows has compatibility issues with the GPU. If he is emulating however, he's screwed. also for the OP's original question, I recommend Seashore or Gimp (mac version) Sprays won't work unless they're 256x256 or 128x128 btw in case that's your problem. Finally, to clear everyone's questions about directories, OSX has two folders for your applications there's the MACINTOSH HD/applications folder for the applications themselves (you can right click(inb4 rclick joke) and select open package contents on any app which will bring you to: MACINTOSH HD/USERNAME/LIBRARY/APPLICATION SUPPORT/APPLICATION NAME which is where the guts of most apps are stored. This is useful for modding and stuff.
I like how the stubborn windows zealots mark my comments as dumb, I'd better be careful about being blasphemous to the great and holy steve jobs or I might hurt their feelings. and no I'm not emulating, I've installed it and it works just as good as any other windows I've used.

I love how the OP is helping derailing his own thread... And cheeseballxm, did you ever get sprays to work?
I love how the OP is helping derailing his own thread... And cheeseballxm, did you ever get sprays to work?
yes I did, i just like goading stupid people [editline]6th January 2012[/editline] , who appear to be scarabix, a-k-t-w, Blackbird88, Costa, GreenDolphin, moonman1080, chubbs, john frohman, and Demon! (judging by ratings on my anti-windows comments).
You're just as stupid as them, especially when you derail your own thread. I'm sorry, but the whole "What OS is the best?" discussion have always been utterly retarded. It's a personal preference which OS you like the most - not what everyone should like. Your problem is fixed so either this thread dies or you take your silly discussion to some other sub-forum. It doesn't belong here.
You really shouldn't care about ratings. Or what OS people use. It's like calling people dumb for liking different food than you. I have no idea of how the directories on MAC are but I'd give GIMP a try. I use photoshop but I have some friends that use GIMP and it works nicely. Lots of guides out there on how to make sprays. Good luck.

I make sprays on my Mac. I use Pixelmator to make the picture, and export it as a high-quality image. If you then convert the image online (I use Zamzar personally) to a tga and then put the converted file in the folder for sprays, it'll appear in the drop-down list for sprays.
ok this is weird, i changed my profile picture a few days ago, and it did change the image on all my posts, but now it's back to my old one on my posts, even though the new one is now on my profile
