• Steam Cloud connection ?

I have these 2 questions that keep bothering me: 1. Why is it so hard for servers to reconnect to Steam Cloud once they drop the connection? I'm fairly sure that idling more than 5 hours on a server without getting 1 normal drop is due the server and has nothing to do with random. 2. Why can't apps such as Source Tools implement an automatic recognition system of the server's state in relation to Steam Cloud and automatically reconnect to another "healthy" server ? I think I have fair solution to detecting if a sever has lost connection to Cloud. If 30 minutes pass without anyone in the server getting items than that is a clear sign of connection loss. Can't Source Tools read the news log from that actual server ? (messages as in : "XXXX has found xxxx") If there are no such messages, that's all you need to know.
Is this about Idleing? And my server is perfectly fine reconnecting to the steam cloud. Stop "being bothered", and go play the game.

The more idlers use ST, the more idlers will be spectating. Spectator drops don't show in the chat text. So that's a problem... OH and also because drops in the chat text don't appear in the console.
idling more than 5 hours on a server without getting 1 normal drop is due the server and has nothing to do with random.
You'd be surprised. I've been idling on the same server since Friday evening, so almost 48 hours now. There were only two incidents where my PC crashed and my LAN cable got loose. There were a few 4~5 hour periods of zero drops, then drops occurred again, yet the server never restarted, and I never restarted [long periods were not right after the two incidents I mentioned]. Nothing special appears in the console even with developer 2, it would probably require somebody with real programming skills to build a detector that I could embed in Source Tools.
