The community-created NIGHT OF THE LIVING UPDATE is here! Over the next FIVE days, we'll be releasing more than NINETY weapon, hat and misc skins for download, SEVEN new Halloweenified maps and a few surprises to boot. Many of the items in this "fake" update might even see their way into the "real" one (whenever that may be) so you could consider this as a prequel of sorts. Updates will be released daily at Noon-ish PDT so don't forget to check back. The NOTLU was created by members of the TF2 Emporium. We're a community of modders that have produced many of the hats and weapons you already see in the game. If you think you're interested in making your own TF2 items and possibly participating in the next major community event, check out this link for everything you need to get started: www.kritzkast.com/tf2_mod_guide
Too bad the official one will dwarf this, it'd be better to release them all at once.
this will probably be better than the real thing
The art for this (or at least the stuff that's there so far) is very nice. Tons of effort has obviously been put into this.
That pyro hat there reminds me of Grim Fandango.
We will be getting Pl_Skullrock soon.
Oh man, the Inconspicuous Appendage is from Day of the Tentacle. This rocks.
Really fun site layout. I think I'm actually enjoying that more than today's content (not to say today's stuff isn't great)
And then a few days later, VALVe will suddenly have items that look suspiciously like the ones in this.
This is awesome. You all made a great work on that !
it's not displaying any content though can anyone post a direct link to night 1?
Sexy stuff.
Awesome stuff so far. Love the look of it, reminds me of The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned.
Very, VERY good presentation! welp, time to start downloading and pack them up with my skin swapper! edit: OH YEAH http://halloween.tf2mods.net/museum.php
Sexy as shit if shit were pornstars
Museum was a good idea for those who miss the other updates. I really love this kind of updates.
Veeeeeery niiiiiice. Probably still gonna be overshadowed by the actual update though :(
Eye Opener should be for Scout.
And to think this was supposed to be a minor community update. and ontop of that, I think it shows that the mighty valve time on the medieval update was (hopefully) a one off thing.
Dia de los Muertos Pyro made the promo? Awesome. Twas the Update before Christmas next? :v:
It's nice and all, but with the actual Halloween update coming out, this will not get as much views as it should. It's amazing, don't get me wrong, it's just sort of a bad thing to do days.
This is amazing guys, love all the painted art and the thought that went into this.
it's a shame that the hat replacements replace only 1 or 2 hats especially the tentacle and the metal helmet thingy replacing misc items
I can't use the Deadhand's animations with Sparkwire's Pip Boy animations, sadly. Is it really worth it to use the Deadhand's animations?
I'm quite curious now though, who is/are the artists that made the layout and drawn everything?
So, everyday at noon PDT another place of the mansion is unlocked ? :3
-Absurdly dumb of me-
And to think this was supposed to be a minor community update. and ontop of that, I think it shows that the mighty valve time on the medieval update was (hopefully) a one off thing.
The Medieval Update delay was largely due to the fact that a majority of the presentation work was pushed on one person (me). This time around, we had a sizable art team to help out.
I'm quite curious now though, who is/are the artists that made the layout and drawn everything?
It was a huge collaboration. Nzdjh and I decompiled many of the props you see in the room from the gcf, Ducksink made most of the original props like the blender and the crockpot, Sexy Robot also made a number of props as well as put together the room scenes, I set up the cameras, Populus set up the lighting and took the renders and Svdl edited the render to look like an old horror movie. There's also Toastador who did many of the character artworks (FrankenSentry, Mill Engie, etc) and he did the exterior painting of the mansion on the home page.
Guys why are all the lights on it's only 4:15 :v:
AM
Oh wow how did that not occur to me whoops
