[rage] I mean, if your a lone engineer with one sentry and one dispencer, most classes can and will rape you. The demoman can sticky, and for some reason its a bitch to shoot them, they explode before you do. For SOME retarded reason, the pyro can FLAME AROUND CORNERS, meaning he doesnt even need to be NEAR the sentry. If you have a courner sentry, your boned. A medic+heavy team can take out a sentry without an ubercharge, EASILY. To top it off, thanks to Bonk! The sentry chooses to aim at it, leaving ANY class to destroy it. [/rage]
This is why you have teammates. but I agree
Well, he still has quite a team-supporting capability, and can still hold down points with help from his friends. But I semi-agree with you. Yes, they shouldn't nerf him too much anymore, but you also gotta adapt your tactics to suit the environment. Don't build corner Sentries for a start, and enlist allied help by bulding Teleporters to increase the chance of allies popping up when you're in peril. But yes, this ol' dawg needs his day. And by day, I mean updayte.
i like to compression blast a sentry's rockets back at it, destroying it. It's a big FU to the engi when you manage to do so.
I agree but here's thing: Why would you be a lone Engineer? It's a team based game and, being Valve and all, has a balance that requires everyone to work as a team.
A medic+heavy team can take out a sentry without an ubercharge, EASILY.
If you mean a level 1 sentry, yes. If you mean a level 3 sentry, no. Unless you are a bad engineer. [editline]i[/editline] Wow. Seriously? You can't defend a freaking level 3 sentry from a medic and a heavy without an ubercharge?
its spelled nerf FYI also cry about it
I've seen scouts edge out a level three sentry. Dohohoho.
I've seen scouts edge out a level three sentry. Dohohoho.
It's not that hard. Shoot the sentry with the pistol, the lone engineer will come if he's dumb, kill him with scattergun, finish the sentry with pistol.
Engineers are the number one cause of stalemates in tf2!

The Engineer nerfs are there so he won't be able to destroy a team alone. If you want to build a strong defense with the Engineer have a dispenser operating, a Heavy and a medic healing the Heavy holding up next to the Engineer's setup.

The point I was making is that even if you're a great engineer, your greatest weakness is a team that doesn't want to listen.
I play engineer and I think he's mostly fine. I do agree the Pyro thing is a bit annoying though; pyros shouldn't be able to rip out level three sentries without a scratch.
lol nurf is a funny word
It's not that hard. I've never seen that before. More often than not, you can out-repair the shots, especially since they'd have to be at a long range. If the engy get's mad and heads to you, then yeah, he didn't deserve that sentry.

Team Fortress 2. You have to work together to protect your Area. That's why you need a teleporter in your area.
Two way sapper is ridiculous. Especially if I had an exit behind enemy lines and some tard spy decides to sap my entrance when I'm doing something else.
I don't have any problems with Engie's power so long as PYROS STOP HEAD ON RUSHING MY LEVEL 3 SENTRY AND SURVIVING.
Two way sapper is ridiculous. Especially if I had an exit behind enemy lines and some tard spy decides to sap my entrance when I'm doing something else.
If you attack one sapper, you knock off both sappers It's not a nerf to engi, its a nerf to spy
[if your a lone engineer
if this happens you're playing tf2 wrong.
If you attack one sapper, you knock off both sappers It's not a nerf to engi, its a nerf to spy except you have to build two teleporters instead of replacing just one if the entrance is dead just go back to spawn and the exit will take you to your stuff if the exit is dead just get another one up this other way fucks you over :/
I've killed many a sentry as a scout. So yeah, maybe they do need a buff.
Damn demomen, those scruffy nurf herders.
Your sentry is a companion, not your primary weapon. I can't wait for the PDQ, shotgun + ninja lvl1 = win
build your teleporter first and you'll be fine with the people helping you and anyways your sentry is meant to go at some point
If you attack one sapper, you knock off both sappers It's not a nerf to engi, its a nerf to spy
Its not a problem when I'm right next to it, but when I'm elsewhere and the spy got both my entrance and exit, but more importantly my exit. Makes it so I have to run all the way back to where I built it, build it again, then run all the way back to spawn/die to build an entrance. Opposed to where if spy got my entrance I'd still have my exit and only need to kill myself/run back to spawn and rebuild the entrance.
duh
While they're killing your sentry, you're bashing their head in with a wrench. Problem solved.
