someone create a listen server, make the time scale super small, and taunt. Watch for exactly where he ends up blowing into little bits

Why go all the way there? I always do it on the roof of koth_sawmill, you can just walk over there.
I also found out that enemies don't die if you do it like this.
You can't hit people up there, and as soon as you kill someone with the launcher, you're screwed.
Clever.
I'm going to assume that you don't get hurt because the explosion is being generated above the end of the map, in that black area of nothingness.
It's kinda like if you shoot a wall when there's someone behind it.
Weird bug, don't really see it's useful-ness though.

It happens. if people come up to you on the other team when you do it in an enclosed space, you can sometimes survive. Example (1:34):

Well, considering that you explode from a rocket before the rocket even hits you or explodes, that's not exactly sound logic.
