Hopefully this email does something which it probably won't but if I get a reply ill be sure to post it...
Dear Robin,
I would just like to say a few things about this new drop system you guys introduced. Most people I know play TF2 a lot more than 15 hours a week I at least play TF2 a bare minimal of 45 hours a week. I know you guys never did like the whole concept of idling in the first place, but now you are indeed getting rid of idling which I like but you are also making people who actually play TF2 all the time suffer. We deserve a better drop system that doesn't penalize us because we play the game to much, we should be rewarded more drops for playing it more. So I do know you have a lot on your hands, but if you could find a way to make a better drop system for us we would appreciate it a lot. So thanks for reading this email and hopefully I get a reply back.
Sincerely Trini8ed (Thanks to pilk for the data)

Seriously they made it so you get items even if you dont play it much. It's so everyone get items. Not only guys like you.
And i dont really think Valve would just change it back like that.

I've only gotten 5 items out of the 12 hours I've played since the drop caps reset. Something is NOT right.

This is why I sent the email...
I'm sorry, but this is really dumb. I'm sure "make a better drop system" is really going to give them some great ideas on exactly how this grand new item system will work. And whether you like it or not, you're basically asking for idling back.
Makes me mad that the e-mails I'm trying to get through to Robin are probably being overlooked in a sea of stuff like this. At least present a worthwhile idea.
I don't think that 15 minute interval is true.
I got a double drop, spawned as spy and exactly 7m 55s later I died and got another ubersaw, which let craft another scrap metal and another reclaimed metal
If you play TF2 at least 45 hours a week, surely you already have every item unlock and a vast assortment of hats.
Why do you even care anymore?
45 hours! Dude, 2/7ths of your current life is spent playing a game! What a waste.
I think making the drop rate right now a little bit more longer, then putting in drop rate increases, per lets say dominations, kills, revenges (But cap it at some point obviously), which would reward players participating in actual gameplay rather than doing nothing.

Valve said in their blogpost they don't want to tie it to in-game performances.
Don't care for hats anymore, since I have one for each class now.
Little sidequest I have is getting Picklehaube or Tyrolean.
And I'm not getting anything since 119th update.

Oh didn't know that, informative.
I've had more items in a week with the new drop system than I had in six months with the old one. I like the new drop system - it works, it is efficient, and you are guaranteed to get drops.

Yeah pretty much this.
I'm getting loads of drops now.
I only got about 10-20 items or something with the old system, I've got at least 50% of that with the new system already.

This.
This system is way better than the old one.
Got 3 drops in a few hours. It's ok. I got about the same before the update. But i still didn't find a hat.
I'm sure valve cares about one guys opinion about a drop system update.
I got a hat very quickly from the new system, so I am happy.
all i want is the modest pile of hats. i am slowly getting items for my 3 refined metals, because this shit system gives me 5 items a week.
Well damn it. Played on a dodgeball server just now, and 3(!) people got hats in only an hour! The heck.
Your email:
I don't like your new stuff please come up with a better solution because I can't.

This.

The new system didn't even get rid of idling. Some people (like me) don't play TF2 enough to use up all of our hours, but play enough to still care about getting items. The only way to get rid of idling is to get rid of the random drops entirely.
If this new system was intended to stop people from idling, then it definitely failed.
You know what makes the new drop system FUN? Being passive about it and just playing when you feel like actually playing. Even if the hours "pile up", then it's just that much more rewarding when you get into the mood for some long TF2 sessions. Since I'm not idling and am playing at my own pace like Valve intended, I get a constant stream of drops. It feels good getting drops all the time and it also feels good knowing I'm getting just as many items as those silly people who still insist on idling. :v:

It's a modest pile of hat. Not hats. It's my only real hat.
What idiot made the image in that post?!
That image is crap.
Pha...
Quit the whining, I doubt we're ever going back.
If it wasn't for idling, we could all be perfectly happy and enjoy our hats and items.
But it won't change. People will always try to abuse the system in one way or another. Whining won't change a thing.

There seems to be a direct contradiction here.
