I sense a Cloak preference war.
I sense a Cloak preference war.
Indeed. I use the dead ringer with my pack but I wan to try it out with the c&d.
I always wonder how he performs as well as he does. It seems that whenever I'm in a very similar situation, something else happens and I die. e.g. I am trying to jump over somebody for a stairstab and they kill me in midair. Or maybe I am trying to wait for everyone to leave the spawn so I can go from behind, I'll set off and a final one will come out and kill me. He's either really lucky or I'm just really unlucky.
Dead Ringer it's usefull if you are on KOTH or a 5 cp map, and it's better because you can run if you get shot, and if the cloak run out you can keep shooting with l'etranger and activate the dead ringer again.Cloak and Dagger it's better on PL so you can camp the cart and when the other team pushes it, you can easely do a chain-stab and return to the camp spot again.

And these are some pretty impressive backstabs. I've gotten people jumping over me, running past me, cloaked, and disguised. Combine those with facestabs, and you've got a decent spy.
Is the people he plays against deaf? Try decloaking right behind any decent player, they'll turn around straight away. Even with the pack, you can still hear it, especially those people who just came out of the spawn and had nothing to distract them. He plays with the worst players in existence and picks out the best moments, noticed how he also cuts to a next scene most of the time when it's obvious he's going to die?
Why did I get banned for posting a OMFGninja video but this here seems to be fine?
All this footage makes feel like a noob. I usually do good but what he does is pretty good. The way he knows when to backstab from "side". I might give a try to use standard cloak again.
Is the people he plays against deaf? Try decloaking right behind any decent player, they'll turn around straight away.
I think he's using the entire Saharan Spy set. It reduces the sound of your cloak. I haven't heard it myself yet, but from what I've been told, the two cloaks are near silent, and the dead ringer is the same as the two cloaks without the decrease in the sound.

Spy seems to be a luck class no matter what you use for your cloak. It's just "did he see me? Is he an idiot? Did he notice he walked into me? Is he going to spam flame thrower or wrench?" It's just pure luck whenever you walk into the situations he does.. I do prefer dead ringer for this load out though. It's a lot more fun to trick people and hear them say "Wow you are so terrible at sp-*BACKSTAB* NVM"
Yeah, he is using the set. That's why they can't hear it. http://www.tf2items.com/id/omfgninja
The l'etranger looks like something you would disregard completely. I wish the new attributes would just be reassigned to an item that drops at weapon rate so I can wear the hat I want and use the effects at the same time. Oh and actually be able to get them. [editline]10:19AM[/editline] That said I think you could play with the knife and disregard the set completely, a faster cloak blink time and a revolver being your reward for doing so.
"Marry me OMFGninja" "uhhh" "thanks but no thanks" "awww" [editline]11:23PM[/editline] "Marry me OMFGninja" "uhhh" "thanks but no thanks" "awww"
My post didn't go through before: He plays against retards. Sure he's a pretty good spy (probably better than me) but in his videos he uses footage from playing against morons. The medics act like they've never encountered a spy (one bumps into him, sees him stab a heavy and sap a sentry and still keeps healing), and heavies/soldiers are just terrible. The engineers are a tad better at dealing with spies (though not that amazing) and the pyros are embarassing.
A lot of them were facestabs. A lot weren't, but a lot were. Also he bumps into a lot of people who don't care.
You can get the familiar fez easy you just need 4 refined metal and a polycount spy weapon like Le'tranger etc.
You can get the familiar fez easy you just need 4 refined metal and a polycount spy weapon like Le'tranger etc.
Because 31 items is so easy to get.
Ahahahaa, why did I crack up so much at the in-server commentary, that was awesome. I laughed more at these than at any TF2 LULZ video I've ever seen.
Imo he is pretty lucky there are some situations where i normally would have been killed like his other video where he was spy medic and stabbed 3 soldiers on a controllpoint.

I'm sure any noob can give the impression that they're awesome if they can select what they're showing people.
He does die in the video one time i think.
What I don't like about this is that, besides being able to get the technique down, there is a certain amount of luck to it. Not to deny he has skills, but that I lack luck. I'll do basically exactly what he does, and it all works, like hiding behind dispensers or baiting and stabbing, but the luck factor likes to bite me in the ass 3 times out of 4. I'll be trailing someone and they'll randomly turn around, dead. I'll get to the back of a team in pipeline, and go to backstab when some straggler in the back sees me and lights me up, or someone decides to turn around because they lost 25 hp. I'll round a corner to a, normally, completely uninhabited part of the map and be met by a small army. The enemy will decide to zigzag randomly across an area, or map devs that just love adding corridors to maps only one person wide. A whole assortment of things that can go wrong that are completely out of your control. It's frustrating, and I've only ever been able to do stab-chains like this a few times, otherwise TF2 takes a steamy shit on my face.
I hate it when I bump into someone and they're so ignorant that they don't even look at me walk away.
This will be even better once the pyro suit is released. If it ever is :(
I always wonder how he performs as well as he does.
He mathacks and:
It's a clip show of only good moments.
Also, OMFGNinja is a super sore loser. He lost in a small competition in the first round and raged quit immediately after it was over.
i always seem to wonder how the real good spies do such good backstabs and sidestabs even when their target is moving around... i always miss my backstab ; ;
