The Scrap Bot is Officially Dead.
TF2PC Scrap Bot: December 11th, 2011 - Februrary 2nd, 2012
I want to personally apologize for letting The Mannconomy down. The bot's lead developer is no longer interested in developing the bot. Once again, I am extremely embarrassed and i want to apologize for letting everyone down.
I am just as depressed as anyone. i feel like my dog just died.

It just clusters it up and makes it look worse

How does scrap banking work exactly? I'm a tad confused.
I think human scrapbankers sell you weapons for a scrap to make a profit of 1 weapon per trade and it eventually adds up, this looks to just be an equal trade though.

Scrap banking is a 50/50 trade where 1 player trades 2 random weapons they cannot normally craft to the 2nd player who trades them a scrap. player 1 essentially crafts his weapons through the trade, and the 2nd player has 2 weapons he can then sell for a scrap each, ideally.
But instead, the bot is set to auto-craft all weapons so it has a constant supply of scrap metal people to exchange their weapons for.
This sounds awesome.

Edit: I just gave the bot a try. I had to wait a bit to get a trade in, of course.
But it was very quick and very efficient. I like it.

Scrapbanking has always been equal 2 weapons for a scrap trading

You put the weapons you want to trade in the trade box, then type "ready" in the chat box. The bot then puts up the scrap.

But that's different, people trade either because they have a specific hat that you want, a specific hat that they want, or because someone makes a profit somehow. Here it's only metal, and it's not specific metal.

no, friend invites are not mandatory. it is encouraged to add the bot to efficiently find the bot when you need it, but it's friend's lists is nearly full, and we are going to figure out how to manage its friends lists based off who uses the bot the most/least.

I understand your concern, but i want to re-iterate that this bot is not ment to profit off anyone using it. the trades it makes are always 50/50 (any 2 weapons for 1 scrap metal). there is no gain, there is no loss; a system neither the bot or its developers can profit from. the bot auto crafts all duplicate weapons so that it remains a self sufficient service that the mannconomy can depend on. vintage/strange weapons that people either accidentally or purposely trade to the bot are manually put on a separate account to avoid them being auto crafted, and so that we figure out the best way to get these weapons back into the community.
