Why aren't set hats paintable?

You can't use paint on the set hats, some of them would look great in different colours like the softcap and fez. Will they be paintable in the future?

Nah, that one is only good because of the reference... which is getting severely old due to how many people who paint it yellow and name it "lol Jonny's hair"

There's plenty of other good painted variations. White Stovepipe is fantastic and NOBODY uses it, so it's pretty mind-blowing when you see it around, and I've painted my Texas Ten Gallon Radigan Conagher Brown which fits rather well.

What I would really like is if you cut paint your hat in a 3d setting, turning the hat, similar to the gun viewing system in hitman.
