Well, I have had my fun. 1: Find Engineer that needs to be killed/his buildings destroyed. 2: Offer to trade (works best with C&D, as you are always invisible) 3: If he accepts the trade, leave him hanging while you sap all his toys. 4: Gloat if you feel like being a douchebag. Please note that only idiot players will fall for this, but it's probably good for a single push.
Done this.
I love you
Oh shit, this is genius. Gonna try it later today.
Wouldn't bother. If you can't take down an engie nest without having the Engineer actually around "conscious" then let the real spy do the work.
I've done something similar done in Goldrush stage 3 last point Red had good sentry nests and few sentry supporters so us Blu decided to use around 6 players (1 of them was me) to distract them with trading. Although it was hard to keep them in trade screen, I can tell you that they didn't knew what hit 'em.

nice tactic bro
Wouldn't bother. If you can't take down an engie nest without having the Engineer actually around "conscious" then let the real spy do the work.
That is far from the point you imbecile, it's called griefing.
That is far from the point you imbecile, it's called griefing.
Griefing is when you do it to your own team, this is just an underhand and hilarious meta-tactic. :eng101:
Meh, i see this is as just being an ass actually.
I thought if you go to trade with someone you can't exit the trading screen? Or am I wrong in thinking this?
I thought if you go to trade with someone you can't exit the trading screen? Or am I wrong in thinking this?
Press Escape.
I had this happen to my team once. It was incredibly annoying, but it was actual trading going on. It ended up where about two people on a team of 6 were defending against about 5 people pushing at once, on the last cap of Dustbowl. And we were actually winning, at least until the last 5 seconds of the round when the entire team decided to run into spawn and leave me out there by myself to get steamrolled by 4 Soldiers, a Demo and a Scout.
I've been doing this since trading was released. It will usually only work the first time (unless the other player is particularly silly/new) but it's hilarious. You can always quickly type in the trading chat box "FREE HATS INCOMING" to buy yourself more time.
I was sniping on top of the base on 2fort_desert. An Engineer on our team had built a small base up there. It was me, him, and another Sniper. Someone wanted to trade with me. I ducked behind the Engie's dispenser and started trading. I could hear the screams when the enemy Demoknight got on the roof. The exploding buildings. Then silence. A few seconds later, I heard my own Sniper scream. I dunno, felt appropriate for this thread.
Shoulda say a phrase like "Your toys are gettin humped brah'"
Griefing is when you do it to your own team, this is just an underhand and hilarious meta-tactic. :eng101:
Griefing is when you grief anybody in a game, griefing your own team is just one version of it. [editline]13th October 2010[/editline] it is generally easier to grief your own team so I would expect you guys who have never done it to think that
Wouldn't bother. :pseudo: [editline]13th October 2010[/editline] gat damn it my automerge
Why not just yell something like "FREE HATS FOR THE FIRST 5 PEOPLE WHO TRADE WITH ME" (after you tell your team your intentions in team-chat of course) and watch as every enemy player freezes?
Change your name to "HATS FOR FREE" and send a trade offer to whoever is dominating you.
Sounds like fun, like tele-fragging.
This is brilliant BRAVO!
Oh get out, you're probably just as bad as us. Don't glorify your facestabs and luck.
Saharan spy all the way.
I approve of this strategy.
I approve of this strategy.
Shut up Bieber, even though I agree with you.
bahaha ill try this when i'm bored
I take it that you need to be two in order to do this?
Not long ago I bought (haters gonna hate) a pack of duels. I found a sniper camping, cloak and daggered behind him and brought up the menu to challenge him to a duel. As soon as he accepted, I stabbed him and got one point. Then I waited in the spawn for the round to end and got a victory for my duel badge. Poor bastard never had a chance. Both teams called me a coward. Better safe than sorry, I say.
