You know when dead ringer is triggered, and you get cloaked? Guns can't show your position et cetera (while being shot at obviously...) but flamethrowers can. I think you should be immune to the flamethrower while under the effect of the dead ringer cloak. Anyone agrees ?
Actually, if you get shot you slightly decloak. :eng101: You also slightly lose your cloak if you are too close to an enemy.
If you turn on the dead ringer after you've been flamed it extinguishes you.
Nope. Pyro is a pretty hard counter to Spy, and your best bet should be to avoid them (Under most circumstances) regardless of what watch you use. As it is, you can already use the Dead Ringer while you're burning and it'll extinguish the flames.
Still doesn't help if the pyro is spraying all over the place after it's triggered.
Then it was still your fault for getting close to him.
Then it was still your fault for getting close to him.
It's not my fault the fucker is right around the corner 8/10 times
Actually, if you get shot you slightly decloak. :eng101: You also slightly lose your cloak if you are too close to an enemy.
With the dead ringer you are completely invisible during the cloak time unless you are set on fire, regardless of being shot or touching other players. Look it up you maggets rating me disagree.
CnD is perfect. I love it and if you dont like getting burned go sniper or PYRO
It's only eight seconds of cloak Valve, don't be so stingy.
Pyros should just be avoided. It just gets annoying when you sneak so well into the base to have a random pyro spouting fire everywhere. Pyros flamethrower need to be shorten or atleast they should be a bit slower when they run if you ask me.
I think it'd be a nice addition to the DR. But only so that the Spy is fireproof while cloaked by the DR, not just when it's out. It'd make it a much more useful tool for feigning death than.

I hate being like 5 feet in front of it, laughing, then spontaneously catching on fire, burning to death as he remembers his shotgun.
It's not my fault the fucker is right around the corner 8/10 times
baaawwww an ambush class ambushed me
You should still take damage from the fire, but it shouldn't be visible I think.
Your cloak should be slightly flame resistant. just enough that ti takes at least half a second of continuous flame to ignite you.
CnD is perfect. I love it and if you dont like getting burned go sniper or PYRO
I've gotten quite a few CnD spies, I use it quite often myself so I always check where I hide, plus the random corners ect.
Yeah, it is kinda lame. They give you the ability to use the DR to put out your flames, but it usually doesn't even matter because you're still in the pyros fire, so you just light up again right away.
I don't think the Spy should be the only single class to overpower the Pyro.
I don't think the Spy should be the only single class to overpower the Pyro.
Uh... what?
I don't think the Spy should be the only single class to overpower the Pyro.
Not being able to visually catch fire doesn't make him overpower. He should still take full damage, he just shouldn't visually catch flame. He should still get the after burn, but no one can see it until he uncloaks.
That would nerf the pyro once again, wouldn't it?
You should still take damage from the fire, but it shouldn't be visible I think.
I vote for this
how about instead of being re ignited, when a pyro uses his flame thrower on you, the DR runs out faster. You can still run to an ammo box and top it back up bu it's still harder with a pyro around. This makes spying a bit less of a headache andf the pyro stayes effective.
Except the Dead Ringer turns into a normal cloak watch after its normal 8 seconds are up, like if you're siphoning from a dispenser or finding ammo crates. Which means you would just catch on fire.
Well according to that leaked beta update (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpCr-5JRU2U) the spy is getting a fire-retardant suit.
DR does not serve it's purpose because you alway know when you have killed a DR spy because the death voice is wrong and the ragdoll spawns oddly. Even though you know exactly where the spy is you can't do anything about it because of damage resistance and perfect invisibility. DR is supposed to fool people, not make the spy just invisible and invincible.

Just wait for the beta fire-retardant spy suit to be released then use it with Dead Ringer.
