• Are there any config settings that make the game look better?

Most config options i see are people tweaking it to get more FPS, but I was just wondering if there was a way to make the game look better by turning up some options through the config. I did this once in Oblivion, and it looked great after doing so. My gaming rig plays TF2 really well and then some, I was just wondering if it was possible to increase fade distance, and do other little things in the config to make the game look a lot better. Is there an option here to make the game's textures to be higher, or is the in game setting of highest as high as it goes?

Much difference between low and high? Not really, unless you don't actually play the game or stand still the whole time.
Tbh, I don't see any difference between low and high, and why people get so hyped up about it.
Because they've probably played a lot of games maxed out long enough that they want every game they played to look their best.

cl_burninggibs 1 is awesome, EVERYONE should enable it. So satisfying as Soldier. Also, go into Multiplayer options > advanced, turn the decal limit to the max (like 4096 or something), it leaves blood all over the place as you play. I also increased motion blur a little, which is separate from mat_motion_blur_forward_enabled (which in my opinion looks like SHIT, especially as Scout). Aside from that, I didn't notice enough difference in the console options to justify keeping them, since when my FPS would drop, I would wonder if it was TF2 or if it was my new options.
BTW, do I put this in the config file or the autoexec file? I'm not sure if I put it in the right area. When I put it in the config file it won't save. Oh, and does burning gibs cause gibs to burn upon death, or only when a person who is on fire explodes?
person on fire explodes i put the options in autoexec
Auto Exec. So you wont need to do it each time
Ok, just checking. Thanks. You guys sure replay fast!

There's so many pointless things in that config.
Frankly Super low graphics tf2 looks like vomit. It's all about making it look ok but having it run ok too. Also: You could put those commands into a seperate config but you'd have to call it in the autoexec.
They have no eyes :whoptc:
