Tf2 freezes at the motd page and has this sound loop. any way to fix this?

like what ever sound is currently playing loops on forever.
The MOTD is displayed thanks to Internet Explorer.

It's displayed by Internet Explorer, and I had the exact same problem. The solution was to turn off the internet explorer module of Internet Download Manager, and no more crashes. You using it too?
I get something similar to this, around 50% of the time that servers change map I get "HL2 has stopped working" error message. No idea how to help you though sorry.

How would one do this?
I wonder if uninstalling IE would fix this...shame that is a verrry hard thing to do.

It's impossible
IE is a core component of Windows-based systems
Go to internet download manager -> options -> general tab -> uncheck "Run module for monitoring IE based browsers" and "Integrate IDM Into : Internet Explorer" boxes.
