Yeah I totally paid 6 crates for a panama, which I traded for a towering pillar.
Their is no such thing as a bad hat, its quality depends on whos looking at it.
I thought the hatless were generally regarded as "bad".
There are some people who love hatless hats and wear them over real hats.

Well I apolagize for saying Bad hats, can we get on topic? Can a X amount of crates be worth hats?
I've seen four crates going for average hats, too.
If you want to really make sure it's a fair trade, calculate every crate's value in metal by taking the average metal value of all possible outcomes and align it with their drop percentages. Of course you'd have to guess metal values for paint and Unusuals. Then take in mind the person still has to buy a key for it.
If you're too lazy for it, demand a hat and see what offers you get, then re-adjust your offer/demand if you don't get the results you wanted. I don't think your offer is unrealistic tho.
Everyone hates the Trophy Belt, because it looks like the stock Sniper hat
But I do like it....I'm the kind who likes the hats that others hate.
It's just a matter of opinion and preferences.

No. I LOVE my hatless scout, and hatless sniper is alright too.

I traded one crate #2 for a stash.
I traded off 2 crates for the Napper's while it was still valuable, it just depends who you ask. Go to a 24/7 Turbine server and you get this stuff.
It really depends. If you trade some person four series 2 crates for a hat of theirs, they might actually do it. I traded a white paint and three crates for a hat once.
If someone offered my 10 hatless for 5 crates I'd trade it.
You can craft them for a different hat you know.
For me,crates aren't worth a hat

I traded a single crate for a hat a while back. I can't remember which it was. And I also got a duty rag for two crates.
That's all beside the point though. IMO, hats are only worth other hats. I never trade my hats for items.

I was playing vs saxton hale wearing hatless scout, and someone was like "I SEE YOU NEED A BETTER HAT THERE, SCOUT" and I was like aww. I don't get the hate for it. It's one of the two good hatless hats.
