• What exactly are crates worth?

I currently have three crates in my possession and need advice as to what I should accept to trade them for. I mean its hard to gauge the value and I dont want to be ripped off. Any good examples of trades you guys have had or anything like that? Any help would be appreciated :)
I'd say as much as 1 reclaimed metal
depends on wether its series 1# or 2. series 1 = scrap metal series 2 = reclaimed metal
depends on wether its series 1# or 2. series 1 = scrap metal series 2 = reclaimed metal
Most idiots don't care. There worth a polycount weapon too.
Depends on what you get when you open it.
I traded series 1 crate for Sam&Max guns. :buddy:
Apparently, a lot.
There's no definite value because you can't compare them well. Which is excellent for clever traders.
Valuing an item based on luck is nigh impossible. I don't know why you idiots insist on scrap metal for something that could provide items that other idiots trade entire backpacks for. Crates are definatley worth more than scrap metal at any rate.
I usually trade paint, nametag, or some weapons for one.
A crate :downs:
2 Scrap or a Polycount weapon, 3 or 4 Crates might get you a hat or Paint.
I trade 2 S1s for a reclaimed, and 1 S2 for a reclaimed, in the SPUF "Crate Market" thread. Usually get a response fairly quickly too.
I've been trying to get a hat for my 4 crates for quite some time now, but nobody wants to trade them :frown:
Well my first two crates both had rare hats. (Im looking to trade the rare engie ten gallon for any other rare hat, PM me if interested)
I traded a level 1 crate for a hat in the beginning, now no one wants them anymore :v:
Once I traded a series 1 crate for 4 weapons 1 crate = scrap I want to craft the crates into scrap, for me it's imposible to trade crates with soo many people trading them
It's been always worth a refined to me, since i often trade 2 or 3 for a hat. With good luck? a paint can. With bad luck? 4 old guns, 2 poly guns, a reclaimed.
A crate :downs:
Boxes are free though, that's why I've given you one.
I can usually get a Polycount weapon or a vintage weapon from one crate. I now need 2 more items, and then I'll have every weapon vintage.
... in the SPUF "Crate Market" thread. Usually get a response fairly quickly too.
I just registered on SPUF but I cant post anywhere :( , and yes I activated the account trough the email any help?
depends on wether its series 1# or 2. series 1 = scrap metal series 2 = reclaimed metal
I hate the crate 2 series because I hate all the hats that they come with. Series one at least offers you rare paint/ nametags/ decent pyro hats.
Traded a paint for 4 crates. Got 2 paints in the crates and 2 hats.
I hate the crate 2 series because I hate all the hats that they come with. Series one at least offers you rare paint/ nametags/ decent pyro hats.
Maybe you hate them, but you know somebody out there wants them more than any other hat.
Maybe you hate them, but you know somebody out there wants them more than any other hat.
True, but then the same can be said of the napper and sombrero- they're not as sought after as the crate 2 hats, but there are always people who want them- plus you get the chance at decent paints/ nametags with #1
I traded my series 1's for 3-4 weapons, thinking about buying keys for my series two.
4 crates is worth a hat, however the steam forums would say otherwise "new hats are worth 8 crates :downs:"
In my experience, each crate is worth about a reclaimed and 4 crates can get you a bad hat (like Alien Swarm hat or Napper's)
I traded a series 1 crate for soilders drill cap :buddy:
If your not going to buy a key why don't you just give them away for free? I did that and somebody even opened one for me.
