Maybe your graphic settings don't allow it?
DX8 doesn't have as many gibs.
It sucks.
Because of your graphics card and the stuff inside of your comp, i had this untill i upgraded
thats what i thought it was, but how do i upgrade? i tried and when i did (or i think i did) upgrade to dx9 i didnt see anything different, so i set the launch options to dx9 and it lagged super bad and the colors were all inverted. . . (and thanks for helping me out guys)

oh and on something else i typed run>dxdiag and it said my dx level was 11?
Buy a new video card.

Oh, you just have to google 'Download a new video card' and you can download a DX9 video card.

Don't listen to this guy. He's trying to trick you. Go to your card manufacturer's website and download the drivers for a dx9/most powerful card and drag those files into your main card's driver folder.

!?
You're trying to trick him too.
Go to your card manufactures website, download the appropriate drivers (you can check your card with the Display tab of DXDIAG), and INSTALL them by opening the .exe
Have you messed around with the cl_phys_prop_max value?

Don't use "XD", that's a friendly tip for you
Anyways yes, this is a terrible card, as the GeForce FX series is known to *SUPPORT* Direct3D 7+, but not to run it properly.
TF2 has to run with at least Direct3D 8, so you're fucked.
Yeah, basically the FX series is GeForce generation 5, while the current one is 10
damn. . . oh well thanks guys im getting a new computer soon so mabe it will work then

Well, a FX5600 can support DirectX 9, badly, but it can. It's normal DirectX should be 8.
DX7 were for MX 4 Series.
