Valve should have given a 2 weeks "stretch" without actually announcing it. So, since the official 3 months cut-off date for gold was December 17th, then they'd give gold all the way to December 31st. So nobody could complain about being within a few days from the [b]official[/b] cut-off date of any medal. Note - I'm not saying this for myself, I'm June 24th 2008, so no matter what stretch Valve would have given, I'd get silver.

Gold would've be 'till the end of '07. Silver would've been 'till the end of 08. Bronze would've been 'till now. Of course I'm just saying this because I want the silver. Although this is still peanuts, though.

So, people within a few days from the official cutoff would get the best medal, and thus not complain. The closest someone would be from the official cut-off, that didn't receive the best medal, would be 15 days, which is late enough to not warrant being a bitch about it [well we could actually laugh at people whining about being 15 days too late].

A system where it was based on how long you've owned the game would have been much better. Then, people can't whine about being a few days off.

I could've got the gold one, but i missed out by like 3 days. I think the silver one looks better anyway.

I have a Gold one on an old account I never use anymore, that I used to share with a friend. And he got it VAC banned. And I don't see Valve making these tradeable :( But I am content with my Soldier of Fortune, at least it's better than the Weekend Warrior!!
