So, this is starting to become a consistent problem and it's really getting on my nerves.
For the last couple of weeks, I've been crashing every time I try to play TF2 for more than half an hour or so. I never used to crash, but now it's a constant thing. I don't think it's my computer, since I just set up a new rig this weekend and the problem's still there.
Has anybody been having this problem, or is it just me?
Defrag, verify game cache, or reinstall.

Try to stay on the road.
or turning down you graphics settings, using one core, or changing to directx 8
You haven't installed any skins or the sort yet, have you?
Maybe it's just a coincidence, but it seems to happen a lot right after teleporting. It doesn't happen every time I teleport, and it doesn't only happen after teleporting, but the last two times I crashed I was stepping out of a teleporter.

lol
Check if multi-core rendering is on.
If it is, turn it off.

That's because teleporter exits are usually around very active areas, this scares your computer and makes it crash. Turn down your Graphics Settings man!
When TF2 started to crash for me I deleted the tf2 folder, defragged and verified files. Haven't had a single issue since.
Try adding the following to the TF2 launch options:
+mat_forcehardwaresync 0 +snd_async_prefetch_priority 1
It seems to have cut down my crashing quite a bit.
