Here's my idea for an Engineer sentry replacement:
(Also yes, it's slightly inspired from the "Guard Dog" class picture)

Now sadly, I myself can't provide a nice template for this (not yet at least)... but if you need one, you could perhaps turn the one in this one into an engineer unlockable template instead.

Engineer's -(Holy dooly! - Sniper).
Fills up jarate.
Engineer's dart gun - tags spies so they can be seen for the rest of their life.
Welding torch:
Better repair but worse upgrade. Same damage/second but damage, upgrade and repair are streamed.
I think there was a whole thread about this unlock.
Sniper sentry. pros: Long rage, high damage cons: long reload times and less health.
rocket bay. pros: fires homing missiles at targets even though it cant see the enemy. Cons: low health, cannot shoot close range targets, only holds 10 rockets, sapping will make it fire at friends while its being destroyed.

Whack a guard dog with a wrench to make it more powerful.
Grenade sentry, tosses round bouncy grenades(More bouncy than the demo nades, will hurt both the owner of the sentry, and his buildings), but will suck at aiming and bouncing it around obstacles(Bots can do this, wouldn't be hard to reprogram it) unless THE OWNER constantly bonks it with his wrench, medium health(level 1 or 2 sentry), can't be upgraded, sapping makes it toss neutral grenades in every direction(damages both teams, and their buildings)
Just wanna say that there will never be building replacements.
Oh, and that the pistol unlocks should involve beer in some shape or form.
I want a gauss gun.

sentry replacement
tesla coil thing
-higher damage + slowdown (like natasha)
-lower range
-reveals nearby spies (like jarate, higher range than attack range)
gun/shotgun replacement for a more offensive engineer
pros:
- can use enemy teleporters, and dispensers
- enemy turrets don't target him
cons:
- his buildings cannot be upgraded
Dispenser Replacement:
Radar: Gives players positions in X range
(you see the radar if you are in the range and you see the enemy if they are in the range)
Disguised enemy spys also get the effect just like getting healed by dispenser
Teleport: 2 way teleport, cannot be upgraded.
You actually drew that picture well, but -80% range? the 20% thats left is just out of a engieneer's wrench range. Plus edging will just be like knowing how to airblast. Lots of asses dont know how, but for people who do, its pretty damn easy.

Perhaps not 80% range then, perhaps... 70, or 60.
The idea was to use the Guard Dog for ambushing.
Place it around corners, and if you try to edging, the swift speed of the dog would get you killed faster than with a regular turret.
Basically, it's meant to prevent edging, encourage using it to ambush, and be easy to kill when the dog is out of range.
I drew a sentry that fires 6-8 rockets, but they do less damage, and the bullets do less damage aswell
i think the rockets could go around corners if the enemy went around one (basiccaly homning)
A sentry that is a server admin, with a flamethrower, rockets, and infinite ammo, and can noclip, and has the ability to use any console command, and perma-bans the entire opposing team! i like to keep it fair :v:
Torx-set:
Replaces Wrench. You can't build with it, but you can tweak level 3 buildings to do something better while making something else worse. Like the sentry would shoot rockets faster, but shoots bullets slower, and vice versa.
Shotgun Replacement:
A shotgun, with the barrel larger than the ambassador, that fires metal blocks/shards that can be picked up by other engineers, for metal,
Stats:
+15% more range
+20% more damage
-20% Slower Firing speed
Makes buildings build slower
-3 HP to a random building of yours if it hits enemy, if no buildings, -1 hp to you: OR, it makes your vision go blurry and makes it harder to aim
Shard goes exactly where you aim
The Shrapnel
Lever Action rifle
6 shot .44 revolver
Welding torch (Has ammo, x2 as effective as a wrench, but only 200 ammo, works like flamethrower that doesn't set you on fire)
My personal idea:
[B]CUSTOMIZABLE SENTRIES[/B]
For example. You could have 3 miniguns instead of 2 and a rocket. Or you could have two rockets and a minigun. Or you could have a sniper in the place of rockets.
Jump pad, replaces the teleporter. When someone jumps on the pad it will launch them upward similar to a rocket jump. Anyside can use it and recharges every 8-10 seconds. Upgrades increase jump height (starts off equivalent to a double jump, then scales higher).

isn't that what any sane person would really be expecting in his update? just like how people were expecting some kind of new cloak for the spy
Anyone coming up with melee ideas is being a bit too hopeful, the P.D.Q is all but released at this point.
Anyway, For the Shotgun:
The Nailgun
Allows the engineer to repair his buildings from a distance
Steals 2 Metal for every successful hit
Fires at the same Rate as the Syringe gun with the same gravity impact
For the Pistol:
The Pointer
Allows an engineer to direct his sentry while standing on it
Good for hitting obvious spies or cornerwhores

While what you say is likely true, you are not Valve, and therefor you could not possibly tell what will and will not be in the update.
The Electrotool: Shotgun replacement.
M1: Lightning arcs out from the gun, frying enemies who get within a certain (small) distance and shorting out any cloaks if it hits a Spy. Can repair buildings, but cannot upgrade nor build faster.
Clip/Reserve: Uses metal.
Taunt: Same as Shotgun.
Electric Drill: Wrench replacement.
M1: Builds, repairs, and upgrades x0.5 speed. Does x1.5 higher damage. Can be held down for constant.
Taunt: Engi spins it on his finger and then pretends to shoot it like a pistol.
