• FPS Drop Fix

Since the Demo/Soldier update, my frame rate has suffered immensely, dropping from approx 110 fps to just 20. I have tried everything from installing new drivers to lowering all settings, but nothing worked. But now I have the answer. (At least for Windows 7 users) Simply type "-low" into the start-up conditions box for Team Fortress 2. Apparently, Windows 7 has issues with how high TF2 is prioritized when running the program. This won't fix it completely, I got 60 fps after this. The frame-rate is playable, but it will randomly freeze for less than a second. But I'm sure you can deal with that.
Thanks for the advice, but I compared "-low" to "-high" and didn't see much of a difference. I have Windows Vista, though, so those with Windows 7 should give this a try. It does seem to make me lucky, though, because I found a Tribalman's Shiv while testing this.
Doesn't that just set the processes priority over other processes running?
Exactly right.
so why would you want to set it to low, set it to high! The higher priority given to the application, the more memory will be allocated to it when it needs it.
Before I used this method, I had already set it to high priority. When I put it on low, it started working again.
Why not normal priority?
I set it once to high but then TF2 froze, now I set low on both Steam.exe and hl2.exe and it works quite better!
So this will change ONLY priority?
This is what I've used ever since I had the game.
is this YOU aura? Aurablock from fugworld ?
Not sure if it helped my fps. It didn't hurt it, though, so i am keeping it.
