Just a random question, do you do anything in order to gain more points? I feel good when I top the scoreboard but I never really give a crap about points otherwise, I don't purposefully farm them, my only goal in a round of TF2 is to win (and have fun of course).
Yes. I must always be the top-score, that way people will almost always see me when they press tab.
It's your own fault for playing on a crappy 32 player server.
Generally I just play. I don't really mind about my points, if I have lots of points and I'm near the top, I'm happy, but I don't really mind if I'm low.
It's your own fault for playing on a crappy 32 player server.
It has nothing to do with the amount of players. Every time you press tab, you usually just look at yourself, and the person with leading score.
Only when I try to get that medic achievement where you need to top the Leaderboard with getting any kills
It doesn't really matter to me. Neither does winning. I'm just there to have fun. I of course DO work toward the win, but I don't ultimately get emotional or quit the game if I lose. The sooner you realize that wins and losses don't matter at all whatsoever in Team Fortress 2, the sooner you'll start enjoying the game for what it is. Though I don't mind being on top of the scoreboard. No, I don't mind it at all! :v:
I try to be helpful to my team rather than farming points. But there's nothing wrong with having 60 points and 3 deaths.
I usually play the "suicidal maniac running at you with a gun" that doesn't earn you that much of a score, but sometimes i get topscores with no kills (healing, pyro unsap/extinguish etc). Once i got like 30 points without a single kill. Feels good man.
oops my response was referring to hlstats points.
I like getting a lot of points, I generally play Engineer so they build up naturally with the Teleporter.
Its all about the amount of kills not points.
Winning makes me more happy than sitting on top of the scoreboard. I just end up on the top anyway so I don't have to farm points.
I enjoy helping my team and wining, but I also like being on top of the scoreboard.
I don't really try and win so much as have fun, usually by going soldier or demo and running to the front lines. Also, it's sometimes fun to see how long I can go without dying as spy. One time on Badwater, I and another spy on my team successfully defended the first point without ever dying. We each got about 10 kills, though I mostly used the revolver.
I press tab to check who's dead and who is what class. I'm usually oblivious to points, except to see that sniper who has 6 doms and 100 points and ask "What." So no, they don't matter. :v

So no, they don't matter. :v
Pretty much this. I check my team's rosters and to see who's dead, that's about it. I barely even notice points exist half the time. I play to have fun, and usually that means I'm helping my team. Atlhough that often ends up putting me at or near the top of the charts as a Medic, I'm just as happy getting a minimum and helping out our Engineer by spychecking and defending his nest with him.
I still need that sniper achievement top the scoreboard 10 times on teams with 6 or more players D:, shame I'm a shit sniper.
They don't normally mean much to me since I often get a low score anyway and I tend to just play for the heck of it, but yeah. It does feel nice to have some recognition for doing well.
while I don't really care it is always nice to see my name as MVP
As scout I sometimes never get any points because I usually play distraction/harassment scout to save my teammates and protect intel/points. So if there is an enemy pyro going towards a friendly medic, I'd run straight into the pyro to hinder and hopefully kill him, while alerting the medic.
I only care about points when there's so many people you aren't visible on the scoreboard, and need to rack em up to be seen. Other then that, no, not at all.
"Sniper gets most points therefore he is best." 32-man server player, 2-minutes before the "punching heavy carrying intel" incident.
I care about k/d
As long as no-one's dominating me I could care less where I come.
while I don't really care it is always nice to see my name as MVP
This is a good point. But that's less to do with your scoreboard number and more to do with how instrumental you were in that round (points represent your usefullness better in small numbers)
I don't mind but I do get obsessed with hlxstats so I avoid server with it
I don't give a crap about points at all really. Also, to above: Oh hai JL. /Slice
I want to win and have good score, but most win. edit: Shit. Voted wrong.
I don't, i don't even understand how the points system works.
