I have a server, we get about 100+ people on a slow day...
I would like to put an ad on my MOTD so I can make a bit of $ and the server will help pay for itself...
What ad program do I use?
People have said adfoc.us is great, but do I just shrink a link to the MOTD and that counts as the ad?
Please help...
I fucking hate servers with ads in their motd, especially ones that continue after I close the damn thing.
Sign up to [url]http://www.pinion.gg/[/url] they offer a great service for advertisements in the games they support (Only Source Engine games atm). Now I know alot of people bitch about adverts constantly playing, thats mainly because the server host put the direct url into the motd instead of installing the plugin, which actually stops the video from playing once you leave the motd screen.
Reason why gaming communities are switching to services like Pinion is because money from donations is almost nearly non-profitable now, with most people spending their money in the Mann Co Store and in trading rather than buying donation packages on servers, I know alot of communities still offer a donation service, but it just isn't profitable enough to maintain the servers in the long term, which is why Pinion helps solve the issue.
Its why the original VS Saxton Hale servers all closed down one after another, we just weren't getting enough donations to maintain it and at the time there was no service like Pinion.
