When you rename a default item, you find another item (The default one). He's just trading you the default one which ends up in your backpack, along with the renamed one.

I found a lvl 128 bat once. It didnt appear in my backpack though.

Probably a renamed scatter gun it makes another scattergun allowing you to pick the default or a renamed version. But I could be wrong.

I don't get why this is special. This is what happens when you use a name tag on a default item. When you're in a server and you see "______ found Knife", they renamed their knife.

I have like 20 default scatterguns. Just rename/describe a scattergun and restore it. Nothing special. Can be done with any stock item.

no. Tried that way back when I only had like 5, out of curiosity. None of the currently available craft recipes work.

Just put a name tag on an item and remove it. Then you have stock weapons with regular names.
