I was about to trade some guy and when I requested to trade him this popped up ... I thought I'd share this because I've never heard of this happening before. Has anyone else seen this?

I guess Valve secretly added a new method instead of banning people's accounts?
IMO disabling trading privileges is a much better alternative.
jpeg rape
Maybe that's what happens when the person has trading turned off.
It could be that he set his trading notifications to nobody.
Ive seen this on alot of people and thought they were scammers.
Definetly seems like they were scammers who got their trading rights rmeoved.
It can be bugged though sometimes, some guy I had traded with 5 minutes ago "lost his privileges," rejoined, and was able to trade again.

Perhaps a lost connection to Steam? I'd imagine it would default to being disabled to prevent people trying to work around the system.
Happens when you attempt to trade with VAC'd people
perhaps you were on a non-secure server
No it doesn't derp, it happens when you enter their Steam Community instead of going on friends or server tab.
That pops out when they're not ingame.
Valve REALLY should remove people's trading priveleges instead of breaking an account full of games.
Valve REALLY should remove people's trading priveleges instead of breaking an account full of games.
I agree. Hackers just lose the ability to play on secure servers, with no other consequences, but scammers get their entire account disabled just for outsmarting someone.
If the mann co store didnt exist, accounts wouldnt be disabled for scamming tho. According to valve it's only really an issue when money comes into play.
I've never seen someone's account disabled, this is really the first time I've seen VALVe do it.

Thought about that, but it talks about "privileges"...
This happens if say the player has lost connection to steam. I had this happen last night.
