I' asked the same question on the steam forums, but haven't got answered, and realized it would probably be best to post it here anyway, so here goes
I'm running on lowest setting in TF2, due to I always prefer FPS over good looking.
But some of my settings keep going back to what's recommend to my computer, I know there is a fix for this. But i don't know how to use it,
I've read in the bug thread that i can use,
mat_hdr_level 0; r_rootlod 2; r_waterforceexpensive 0
write that in my autoex.. I don't know.
Anyone here ":)" that here know better?
Have you had a look at your launch options? If it has -autoconfig, that resets all settings. Putting commands into an autoexec.cfg always runs them at startup.
Thank you for replying, the only launch options I use is -novid, but can you tell me where that autoexec.cfg is located?
Program Files/Steam/steamapps/<your Steam account>/team fortress 2/tf/cfg
If it's not there, just create it.
%steamlocation%\steamapps\%accountname%\Team Fortress 2\tf\config\
You might have to make it your self though. It would not be hard.
Thank you both, now I'm just hoping it doesn't do it again :)
But you need to put the commands to exec each time in the cfg.
