Never use razorback, it is horribly worthless and it makes you look dumb and pathetic because it so obviously means that you can't even defend yourself against spies. Learn to localize spies by listenening for the sound of footsteps when your friends aren't around, as well as the sound of uncloaking. Then you can use the now empty slot for an actual useful weapon such as the SMG or jarate.

Don't be sniper.

Play a class that actually helps your team.

Only use jarate to put yourself out when the pyro who set you on fire/other enemy pyros die. I saw this sniper in 2fort, pyro managed to get in, set the sniper on fire, and the pyro decides to w+m1, then the sniper panics and puts himself out with jarate only to get set on fire again. :eng101: [editline]07:52PM[/editline] Also, do not hesitate, even if you don't have a bead on the sniper, just fire away, you might get a bodyshot/get lucky and he dies. To all you people who are hating on snipers, please, kindly, shut the fuck up. Snipers help the team if that sniper doesn't get distracted and caught up in getting points(I.e. Person joins, Picks Sniper, is being credit to team, another person goes rage sniper and owns his killer, Sniper gets caught up in sniper wars, sniper not credit to team anymore.)

If you see an enemy calling out medic, shoot him, he's probably on low HP. Same with enemies running towards health packs. They'll hate you for it :3

If you use the huntsman... Don't try to snipe enemy rifle Snipers at long range unless they have not yet spotted you. Your arrows are easy to dodge at long range and you will undoubtably be killed first if he notices you. The huntsman is best used in mid or close combat.

practise makes perfect. if youve got some downtime or just feel like knobbing about, try the tr_walkway map. use teh controls to make the bots strafe / swerve, and stand at the farthest possible point, and practice practice practice

Don't duel with snipers across the map, actually help the heavy that is about to get backstabbed by shooting the spy.

im a pretty shitty sniper but whenever i decide im high enough to play the class heres what I do: -in stage 1 of goldrush there's a little hole in the boxes above the red spawn. It overlooks the tunnel chokepoint so I ususally snipe through that. its close to impossible for another sniper to counter snipe you through that hole (its only happened to me once ever) but keep an eye out for snipers on the opposite roof. -When im on defense and the cart is getting close to the last points of any map, i usually cant snipe people that close so i throw jarate on the cart and immediately run back to spawn and refill it and throw it again. its pretty slick throwing jarate every four seconds and you get tons of assists.

Do something else than camp the opposing team's balcony, while being on your team's balcony in 2fort.

I don't like how people accuse snipers of being useless and not bringing credit to team. Many times I've turned the tide by one well placed headshot. Either on that medic or that shoothappy heavy. Also 2fort sucks.

If you use the huntsman "seriously", you know, without spamming and actually getting in close-quaters, use the SMG. Odds are your arrows will deal 120 damage to a low-health class such as scout, and you definitely won't have the time to shoot another before he 2shots your ass. Oh and quickswitch to permanently store a firearrow.
