• Pyro and how you should use him

(Remove mask) Alright. Pyro. If you like Fire and the idea that you can take the enemy with you to your grave, then listen up. W + M2! Really, now? How about you try something for me. Play Offense on Dustbowl and charge right at the enemy while holding your flamethrower's trigger down. How'd that Rocket taste? What about the direct pipe bombs or the Natascha? Exactly. If you're trying to play like this, you're doing something wrong. The Backburner is a giant tool of cheapness! You just got ambushed. The fact is, if a Pyro is behind you with any manner of flamethrower, you aren't getting away alive unless you're a scout, in which case you're now on fire and will have to run away to find a source of healing. The Backburner is simply a way to prevent this from happening. Besides, if a Pyro is facing you at medium range, do you think the Backburner will get him a kill? In this scenario, ANY class can kill him, even demomen and soldiers, as his lack of Compression Blast has doomed him. The Flare gun sucks! The Flare Gun is for people who can aim and play a Pyro at the same time, not a likely scenario given that most people go into "hold button down" mode when playing him. the flare gun can counter any class by setting them on fire, and most people understandably panic while on fire, and retreat for a medkit to extinguish them before they die of afterburn. This is ALWAYS a good thing, as one less person for your team to face is a bonus. Also, Snipers flinch every second while on fire, so they can't get a good shot. The Shotgun sucks! You know how there's an achievement for killing 20 people with your shotgun after setting them on fire? That's the third Pyro achievment I got. The Shotgun is a very useful tool for setting people on fire, then retreating before they kill you. This is insane against Soldiers, as their rockets at close range are the ultimate counter to you, even with the compression blast. Learn to utilise this. The Axtinguisher is Bullshit! It's no more bullshit than getting killed by a demoknight. Chances are if you were Axtinguishe'd, you let the Pyro get too close to you anyway. The "Puff and Sting" strategy takes time to learn and master, especially against faster classes and soldiers. Even with the Degreaser, you need to learn the exact timing or you will simply look like a fool, chasing your enemies down with an axe while your flamethrower is readily available by pressing Q. The Pyro is never a team player! The Pyro is the second most team-friendly class, behind the Medic. He is the best spy cheker, the best sentry defender, and the best class for dealing with ubers. He can defend buildings while the Engineer is gone, remove sappers with the Homewrecker, and airblast stickies away. He can flank around massive lines of enemies and light them all on fire quickly, inciting panic and usually causing retreat. He can mortar flares at medics who are healing heavies, forcing the heavy to waste his sandvich when the Pyro can simply light the medic again in less than a second. He can airblast rockets and pipes, removing two of the biggest hazards to defensive lines. Don't go saying that he doesn't help the team. The Pyro set is not worth the time! I'll have you know I spent 2 hats getting the 4 refined for my Attendant, just so I could move that 10% faster. With this speed increase, flanking is made much easier, Medics can no longer backpedal you and Blutslauger your efforts away, and you still have the freedom of choosing between the shotgun and flare gun. The Degreaser's reduction of 4 Afterburn damage to 3 isn't an issue when you can chase down any class except the scout (Who was ever too big a threat anyway) The Powerjack is also severely underused, as the 75 health you get is more than worth the risk of closing in even closer, especially since you can infinitely overheal yourself by smacking down groups of enemies. (I've gotten to 387 Health as the Pyro before, never underestimate the Powerjack on a group of Snipers.) Compression Blast is cheap! So you're saying Soldiers, Demomen and Huntman Snipers should have no counter? And at medium range a Pyro should be worthless? Please, what you need to understand is that the compression blast is one of the only counters for these three classes, and a successful reflect is based more off of skill than luck. You need to time it right, since it has a delay, and you need to point it in the right direction or you've done nothing mroe than make the enemy waste some ammo. Plus it's literally the only effective Uber counter. (Puts on mask) Huddah! (User was banned for this post ("parody [Dragon]" - Craptasket))
This is getting retarded. No-one gives a fuck.
I still like these. I give a fuck.
Please, no more of these
Stop.
I put half an hour into this! :saddowns:
Those are horrible. Don't ever do this again.
It is NOT necessary to make 9 different threads for each character.
I put half an hour into this! :saddowns:
Don't get me wrong, it was nice. However, people hate, hate, HATE this pattern of threads.
Fuck I hate the backburner, especially when the user has the gibuz and the bronze badge on.
