I'm trying to make it so that whenever I choose spy as my class, auto-reload turns off. Can someone help me out here? If I had the console command, I could simply add it to the spy's script.
I think its a_re 1
cl_autoreload, iirc
Although +reload works just as well I think.

You can't bind things to +reload properly though, as you still have to hold it down. I think.
Put this in the spy cfg
cl_autoreload 0
Works great, thanks
You might want to do "cl_autoreload 1" in all the other configs to make sure they have it turned on for them too.
And do not use it for demo. It forces him to fire slower then heck with the Sticky launcher.

Is there a way to set it to only reload certain weapons?

If you just enter +reload into the console, it'd be like never letting go of the r button actually.

I know. But that's not the same as a bind.

I never had any problems with it. The only class I have it turned off for is the Spy, because his revolver gets in the way every time he raises it up to reload after single shots.
Then you hardly play any demo to notice it. Although, you could get the same effect with explosives as soldier. Which this works extreamly well with.

I play without autoreload (I tried it when it first came out and quickly gave it up because it was just so weird not hitting the reload button), but sometimes when I'm waiting for the round to start or walking from spawn or something I'll take out my pistol/SMG/needlegun and hold down R and M1 because the animation is funny. The firerate is definitely slower, albeit in a very small way.
Using cl_autoreload may be different, though.
I turn off autoreload as Scout. I might be Using the FAN and I don't like the lost ammo.
