• Creating Animated Spray Help (VTFedit)

So right now I'm making a spray that is animated. I'm following this tutorial here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=121269706 It says that I need to select all the files, and open with VTFedit. However, my files are not TGAs, they are already VTF files. It opens each one individually in their own windows. I tried other TGAs I had and it gave me the dialog window that I need to come up for the VTFs. (http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/921252182236308400/9A2A18E76DD208008E43F067D47E2A356FCC07E8/) So I tried opening the first frame, then copying the second frame from the other window and pasting it onto the first frame. It didn't make a new frame. I also can't type into the "frames" box. So how should I go about making this if I can't get that dialog to open with my VTFs?
The problem is you're trying to import VTF files, you need to import TGA's or other image files then select all of them at once when importing to create animated VTF's.
I can't get that to work like that because TGAs don't have mipmap information like .dds files do, and when I try to import .dds files it makes the animation, but the mipmaps are discarded. I want it to animat AND fade.
and select them in the order you want vtfedit to display each frame. labeling each frame as 1,2,3,etc. hslps a lot.
I get all the information for my sprays from here http://www.the303.org/tutorials/spraylogo.html
I don't think it can be both animated and fading.
