Hello everyone its BIRDMAN! haha seen a lot of face punch's mod work and thought I ought to join as well. Right now though I had an interesting idea for the Team Fortress 2 Engineer. Came up witht his while i was watching "The good the bad and the ugly" I noticed Engi has 12 shots in his pistol. now a revolver has 6. I also found it very weird that the engi is twirling his PPK like it was a SAA (Colt Single Action Army). So im thinking would it be possible to give the engineer dual wielding Colt SAA and if so im willing to work on the project with anyone that has the know how to pull this off. I did a lot of realistic thinking about it too. I figure world model is going to look weird as hell... but yeah maybe theres a good way to do that. so any thoughts on the idea? anyone willing to work with me on it. I unfortunately am not adept at modeling or animating but creating graphics is something im fairly good with :P
Should be fairly easy for the viewmodels, but, like you said, world models would fucking weird. Couldn't you just mirror the viewmodels? I dunno, I'm not THAT experienced with moding.

I dont think too many people would care too much about world model... I mean it is a handgun you arent going to necessarily notice it from a distance. you know what I mean? View models would make it look cool though. and actually... im not sure if you could just flip it for the engineer since one hand has a glove and the other doesent
weren't you that guy who got banned from the birds nest?
weren't you that guy who got banned from the birds nest?
I was banned from me and birdwomans forums periodiclly because things got out of hand. I was however never banned from my server and as of now im unbanned from the forums and everything is back to normal the way it was meant to be. so yes I was banned from the forums not from the server and I am in charge again along with BIRDWOMAN and more than likely always will be. oh your Inzuki's friend :) Yeah well im not just "that guy". I am the co owner of the server, the original BIRD, father of the birdfamily, and I happen to be a very popular person among some 150 people in my "fan club" XD I always thought that was sad someone made a fan club for me, and now that boy has Swine Flu :( praise bird god on his soul.

How about this, the V-model is awesome and with two revolvers, while the W_model is one revolver. That way the modder won't have to deal with the Character resources that only a few people manages to use properly it seems
I was going to give him a whimsical revolver with two cylinders set to the action of firing one arms the other. Or just give him a revolver with a big cylinder. Or make his shotgun a shotgun revolver.

Now I can work with the modder who is willing to do the project because of my Photoshop talent. unfortunately i do not have state of the art equipment (Photoshop Elements 5.0 yes, laughable) however I still can manage Grade A work even without CS4 :)
I don't believe it can be done without editing the TF2 source code, I think it's because there are attachments on the models where the muzzleflashes come out, and each model only has one of these, you'd have to code a couple of lines telling the model to fire the muzzleflash from attachment one, then attachment two, then add a second attachment onto the second gun.
That's for the W_. With the V_ you can do basically anything you want, it's just a matter of time and dedication.
What about the reload animations? Reloading 2 revolvers would take some time. Reloading the pistol takes a split second. [editline]01:18PM[/editline] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvfACij6ezQ
What about the reload animations? Reloading 2 revolvers would take some time. I could make a version for tf2 of my revolver animations. they are really quick if done right.

Well... revolver Ocelot from metal gear did it. I believe he was a dual revolver. I do think BassB's idea is probably most effective... but hell it probably doesent even have to be perfect. I mean for the Ambassador on spy... the cylinder opens and moves towards him no bullets come out and wham magical reload. hmmmm... what might be a good way is if the engineer took both revolvers spun them to the side to release the cylinders get a good reload sound while both guns are off screen and then have it return. sounds retarded but thats all i got.
Well... revolver Ocelot from metal gear did it. I believe he was a dual revolver.
He loaded each cartridge individually, like one bullet at the time if you know what I mean.
While it's already been suggested, just lowering the models below the screen would work. C&C: Renegade had a number of weapons that didn't have proper reload animations, and were subsequently given a default 'lower weapon, raise weapon' animation in first person.
Birdnest is dirt
says you :P got a fairly large community who feels the opposite. and WE SHALL NEVER STOP TILL I TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!1111!!!1!11!@2@#@ MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!@2@!!! *ahem* Oh right we were talking about a dual Revolver Engineer... my friend Colonel BIRDMASK who is more often then not my co worker when we do modding work. I'll have him look over the thread sounds like we got great ideas and refinement on my original idea. Although one thing im sure that will stump us both is the muzzle flash for both revolvers. This does sound pretty cool though. Except the blasted world model :P
