Recently I've been having a problem with steam locking up when I try and run TF2. What happens is I will login to steam and then launch tf2. The first time after logging in, I can play no problem.
But any future attempts to launch it and steam stops responding.
I always wait it out but instead of the game launching, I get the error 'the game is unavailable at this time'.
Every time I try and restart steam after that has happened, I get all sorts of steam connection errors and update problems. Been happening for the last 2-3 days (and as of right now, I can't login).
It's only when I leave it for 7-10 hours that it suddenly decides to update. And only if I do that method of deleting everything in the steam folder besides steamapps and steam.exe.
I mostly play tf2 so I thought it might be the culprit. Defragged and verified the cache files but that didn't do anything.
Been using steam and playing tf2 for a long long time with the same hardware/software. What gives ?
