I dunno about this, but since I kinda liked Tycho character in Poker Night, I started reading Penny Arcade, to see what it was all about. Not long after starting, I found the origin of the comic that originated our promotional item, and it's a REALLY early comic (1999's), so I thought it'd be nice to share for those who didn't read it/don't remember anymore.
Did this really deserve a new thread? But still kinda interesting
I'm not sure either, but, still, the other timepiece thread isn't on first page anymore, so I kinda didn't think too hard about it.
Theres several comics in which the watch changes hands
so I thought it'd be nice to share for those who didn't read it/don't remember anymore.
Don't remember? It's a pretty big running joke, considering that there's been at lest 5 later comics featuring the watch as the punchline.

That very well explains why the icon in the game had blood on it [editline]29th November 2010[/editline] As long as we are doing item origins. Dangeresque 2 http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail80.html Dangeresque, Too? (the actual origin, other was a prelude) http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail106.html Homestar wheres the glasses. and you get to see the Nunchuk gun that was shown briefly and mentioned a few times in the game.
I don't understand how a guy from a webcomic got in a game.
I don't understand how a guy from a webcomic got in a game.
Webcomic about games.
I don't understand how a guy from a webcomic got in a game.
As much as I like Tycho in Poker night, I would have loved to see Guybrush Threepwood in there.
I don't understand how a guy from a webcomic got in a game.
Do you SERIOUSLY not know how big PAX is? Telltale are massive contributors to PAX, and Tycho is in there as a result of that.
As much as I like Tycho in Poker night, I would have loved to see Guybrush Threepwood in there.
Only reason Gordon Freeman is not in is because he is too much of a talker. We would have no play time.
Only reason Gordon Freeman is not in is because he is too much of a talker. We would have no play time.
We're playing as Gordon Freeman.
Then why am I not pushing the poker chips in with the grav gun or crowbar! Gman can not take my damned crowbar away all the time!
Comic Sans showing who's boss up in this shit huh
Comic Sans showing who's boss up in this shit huh
And jpg's a valid image format too!
I don't understand how a guy from a webcomic got in a game.
There are Penny Arcade games.
There are Penny Arcade games.
Yeah, Penny Arcade Adventures. I never played them, anybody know if they were good?
anybody know if they were good? [img_thumb]http://casualtygamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/penny-arcade-31.jpg[/img_thumb]
Doesn't look like it, but what do I know?
Yeah, Penny Arcade Adventures. I never played them, anybody know if they were good? [img_thumb]http://casualtygamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/penny-arcade-31.jpg[/img_thumb]
I don't know if they were any good(I'd heard they were good RPGs but never played 'em), but they certainly weren't fiscal successes.
I tried the demo of one, they're pretty decent for turn based games. Also Strong Bad's shades > Homestar's
As much as I like Tycho in Poker night, I would have loved to see Guybrush Threepwood in there.
That would actually be pretty awesome, maybe have the voodoo lady as a cameo.
I would love DLC with Doc Brown, Guybrush Threepwood, Sam, and another Team member.
I would love DLC with Doc Brown, Guybrush Threepwood, Sam, and another Team member.
Spy or Scout would be interesting, but I believe they have the most lines in TF2.

I was never a fan of Penny Arcade. Not because I don't like it I was just never a fan of webcomics. Tycho in Poker Night however got me a bit interested.

On another note, Max got me obsessed with Sam and Max. Been willing to try the games now.
I was never a fan of Penny Arcade. Not because I don't like it I was just never a fan of webcomics. Tycho in Poker Night however got me a bit interested.
I used to read them, but they lost me after some really wordy comics they posted in rapid succession in like '07 or '08. After playing Poker Night, though, I went back through the archives and got back into it. And now I appreciate RSS feeds even more.
I hadn't even heard of Strongbad before poker night.
Looks like you're gonna have to juuuuump!
