• Tips on using the Huntsman?

The bow has got to be my least used weapon. For me it's really hard to get in the shots because the arrows are sluggish unlike the arrows in Oblivion or Morrowind. It's like you're firing a 20 lb. arrow it seems. I really don't know how the snipers in 2frot actually managed to headshot someone across the river. Maybe it's luck, iono. If you have any tips, I'd be happy to learn them.
w+m1
the best tip i can think up is.. don't use it.

Aim in the general direction of your enemy.
Lead your shots, when enemys are bunched together dont be afraid to shoot without aiming

Just learn to predict enemy paths. When you see them going in a certain direction, aim ahead of them where you think they'll go so that the arrow hits. It takes practice. It's the same thing with the Flare Gun.
Close your eyes when you aim. Headshots guaranteed.
press m1 hold it release repeat until win
Learn how the arch works, then you have basically mastered it.
Don't use it in general. It's a massive downgrade in comparison to the regular rifle and it's not worth using time to get better with.

Spam it around corners into choke points at head-hight for heavies.
Don't use it in general. It's a massive downgrade in comparison to the regular rifle and it's not worth using time to get better with.
It's vastly superior when the enemy can see you or the range is shorter than would be practical with a sniper rifle.

The Huntsman and Sniper Rifle can't really be compared due to the vast difference in the situations you would use them in. Anywho, you can (to some degree) rely on people to bumble face-first into your arrows. If you play a map enough, you will eventually work out where to stand and how high to aim in order to headshot people coming round corners and whatnot. I'd say it's 1 part luck, 1 part patience and 2 parts practice.
Be a support role. Your place is just behind the medics, toss a Jarate at a cluster of enemies fire into their lines to thin them out. Work with the team. A huntsman sniper is best used to take out enemies faster ensuring the survival of the "mob". a Good mix would be a pryo, a heavy, a medic and a huntsman sniper.
Even with the Huntsman, you're still a sniper. That being said, avoid getting too close to an enemy. Actually, avoid getting too close to an enemy who has "A" and "D" on their keyboard, a brain can only worsen this. Personally, I prefer to go combat sniper with the rifle. I'm not very good, but if I can't kill someone up close, I can certainly run.
first off its a medium range weapon, so use it at medium range, dont try to outsnipe snipers with the gun, and heavies are prime targets when spinning their barrels. Don't waste arrows on scouts or spies either.
When fleeing, run backwards and shoot very low charged shots at enemy head level. That way they are likely to get headshotted and it doesn't slow you down.
Just don't aim. Why aim when you can Huntsman?
Aim miles above their heads... Because this counts as a head shot.
Just remember that they won't be in the same place as they were when you let go of the mouse. Aim ahead of them, and remember: to get a headshot, you should probably aim for the head.
Go into chokepoint, spam arrows. Get 50 kills without looking at the screen.

Sounds stupid, I know, but when the entire server is just Hunstman Snipers, you learn pretty quick how to aim the thing. I suggest getting a buddy or two and going onto that map, starting out at around the two spawns' distance from each other, and gradually working your way to trying to hit the last point from the third point. And yes, it is possible, I've won a game by sitting back there. A game, it's still really really fucking hard. Edit: As far as general tips, the arrow actually goes to towards the bottom right of the reticle, like the Soldier's rocket firing to the top right, due to model placement. Spies and Scouts ARE targets you should be shooting at, but mostly ignore Scouts if they're ignoring you. After landing a fully charged shot on a normal health class, such as Spy, in tight quarters, twitch arrow him or kukri/SMG. That is, just tap the mouse button. There's no reason to sit almost completely still if you're in a close range fight with a class that's probably built for it better than you, just to get the speed. Often times they aren't expecting where you're going to shoot, and will run dead into it. You should avoid getting anywhere close to a Heavy + Medic combo, unless you can come up behind them and kill the Medic. An arrow headshot deals 300 damage. This is enough to just piss off the Heavy and give the Medic more charge. Pull back your bow and ask for a friendly Pyro to light it. Once it's aflame, hit your previous weapon key(default Q) to save the burning arrow. If you pull your bow back and your hand starts shaking in the view model, the arrow's going to go wild. Hit your secondary fire(M2) to release tension on the string and go back to undrawn.

Aim two mm above the head no matter what or aim for the general body. [editline]09:48PM[/editline] I am a Huntsman and this is a perfect tactic. [editline]09:48PM[/editline] For me.
Aim where your enemies are more like to dodge, a arrow
The only tip I got, is that the Huntsman is really inaccurate, it kinda arcs to the right. I cant believe the amount of First Blood Scout kills I got once I learned to get used to the arc.
