System Specs: OS: Windows 7 Processor:Intel Pentium D CPU 3.00GHz RAM: 4.00GB RAM Graphics Card: Intel GMA 3000 Current Config: http://www.mediafire.com/?sr8x7o203ukavoi,uwbe4zs0633rrxi Current Launch Options: -sw -noborder -w 1280 -h 720 -console -novid-dxlevel 81 -sw -noborder -console -novid -useforcedmparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -novid -nocrash Graphic Options: Minimum Settings on TF2, Weather Off, No Sprays, No Viewmodels External Programs: Razor Speedbooster Is there anything else I can do to boost my frames? Even the smallest bit will help. Things I won't do: Run in a smaller resolution. Run in any other version of DirectX. Thank you in advance!
Already have it in my config.
I'm not sure what to tell you, you won't try a lower resolution. I have a windows XP computer that I got tf2 working on by lower the resolution to it's lowest setting. and it runs perfectly. Some times you need to do what you need to do.
My TF2 looks like it could get worse graphics, the lighting isn't even all blocky like I have seen in some videos

mat_filterlightmaps 0 But it won't improve your FPS. Anyway; some tips: 1. You haven't properly entered -dxlevel 81 as there isn't a space seperating it from the preceding launch parameter. Also, make sure to remove -dxlevel 81 after you've launched TF2 once. 2. Don't run in windowed mode. Running in fullscreen should give you a higher framerate.
Run in a smaller resolution.
This is your problem. You will gain plenty of FPS if you lower to 640x480.
2. I need to Alt+Tab too much to do this? Or did they fix that? Also, mat_filter... doesn't do anything
If you've removed -dxlevel 81 from launch options (after first launch) you won't have any problems with alt-tabbing. The mat_filterlightmaps command doesn't improve FPS whatsoever, so it doesn't really matter either.
Try using the Oldschool pack. Not only does it look GREAT, it's being constantly updated and you'll get a huge performance boost.
2. I need to Alt+Tab too much to do this?
Open up your task manager while TF2 is running. Find hl2.exe and gameoverlayui.exe in the processes tab, rightclick, then set both their priorities to high. I run TF2 on a crappy machine as well, and doing this fixed not being able to tab back in.

Ping was still an issue, but I got about 40-50fps with the game still looking good in its own right. Very much like some kind of wild west Quake 2.
Also try: Low quality particle effects http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2380675 Phongless player models (does gamebanana still have viruses or am I ok to post this?) I ran tf2 on a GMA for a while. There really is nothing you can do to get a very decent fps on one, I'm unhappy to say.
Windows 8 helped quite a bit for me.
Got both particles and models. Thanks guys helps a lot on pubs (Not much in matches though) :( Update Models lower my fps
Also in dx8 is there a way to not have blood and jarate tints?
I like how the old school doesn't look bad, It looks even more awesome in my opinion.
Please?
Please what
Have you changed your windows theme to Classic? Believe me, it helps
I still remember how tf2 looked in 640x480. good ol' shady times.
I have no chance. :(
I have no chance. :(
Uninstall the mods, just use the low resolution and the other files. Using something like the low-poly pack lowers your framerate more than improving it. Also, telling the game not to draw viewmodels helps a lot.
