A few questions about the new Heavy weapons, mainly the Steak

Ok, so I'm wondering about damage here.
You receive mini-crits when eating the Steak, but does this change when using the Fists of Steel?
Will you take double mini-crits from melee attacks?
Lets say you have the Fists of Steel equipped and you just ate the steak. Lets say you get hit by an Engineer with the Southern Hospitality. Since the normal amount of damage for mini crits with it is 88, and with the 100% extra damage from melee, will you take 176 damage and then take mini-crit bleeding damage? Its kind of confusing me a little bit.
Also, does using the Fists of Steel mean that Axetinguisher crits (or any melee crits) will deal double critical damage? Thats more than enough to one shot a Heavy, or severely damage an overhealed one.
Only 1 mini-crit will register.
Axtinguisher will also only register one crit.
It's funny. equip the KGB and see what happens lol.
I just did the math. If what you say is true, you take LESS damage after eating the meat and taking minj-crits than when you're just taking 2x damage from melee.
I mean, for just melee weapons.

I wonder, from normal weapons do you take a crit or minicrit multiplied by 0.4, or is the crit/minicrit nullified in the reduction?
Someone who has meat test this now :psyduck:
You run as fast as a scout with GRU equipped.
Crit-O-Heavy?
You run as fast as a scout with GRU equipped.
Slightly faster, even! A Scout's base speed is 133%. A heavy's speed with the Steak eaten and the GRU equipped is 133.3%.

yeah this owns, running past a spun-up brass beast heavy at 300mph and hearing him go 'wtf' is the best thing ever.
Say, is there any kinda terminology that classifies a Heavy with the Buffalo Steak and GRU equipped? By that, I mean what do you call a Heavy that uses those two weapons in conjunction? Personally I think Raging Buffalo would be an appropriate term for that kinda loadout.
Lightspeed heavy
just say gru+meat?
but i'd say heavy scout.
Hamfisted Heavy?

easily confusable with meat + [any heavy melee]

I tried thinking of another name, but all my ideas involve Gloves of Masturbating Furiously and Meat.

we're making a name for gru + meat aren't we?
the name just has to get the point across that the heavy is damn fast

"Holy shit what the fuck was that"

It's funny because you can get the archivement "Retire the Runner" (kill a scout under the effects of the crit a cola) by killing a heavy under the effects of the steak
the fists of steel don't make you take and give minicrits. they change the damage amounts by percentage.

To clarify, you mean while under the effect of the steak?
If so, oh joy.

No, the Fists of Steel provide like 40% resistance to all ranged damage, but -100% resistance to all melee damage when out. The steak forces you to use only your melee, makes all damage you deal and take be minicrits, and increases your movement speed.
I've only had one guy try and use the combo on me, and he got launched backwards and hit in the face with a sledgehammer
My question was whether the fists of steel's damage reduction applies to minicrits and crits, and if not, if it co-opts the minicrits of the steak, or just doesn't reduce the minicrits of the steak.
I'm pretty sure it works against the Heavy completely. That is, I do 105 points of damage with a melee attack, which gets doubled by the Fists to 210, which gets increased by 33% to something like 270 or something. Or it may do it the other way, I do 105 x 133% for mini-crit, then doubled. Not sure.

So using those two items together means a 1-hit kill with almost any melee weapon.

They stack. I hit a Heavy wearing Steel fists while he was under the effect of steak with my bushwacka and he took 390 damage

Actually, re-reading this I think what you meant was the ranged damage reduction. I'm pretty sure that it reduces all ranged damage taken by 40%, or whatever it is, and then the crit or mini-crit effect happens.
Thank you all, that answers my question, and all adjacent issues, quite nicely.

"why is that heavy going for that point"
