Just that, using Source Filmmaker without downloading the game, because I read that VAC can find it, and I don't want it to happen.
Not that I know of.
VAC won't find it and there is no way to make it work with current TF2.
VAC doesn't look for files in your hard drive.
There's a way but you're going to have to download the TF2 beta first. (AKA you've got to download it)

You don't exactly have a choice if you want the TF2 Beta - you're not going to find it anywhere else. But, it should be fine.
I can imagine the Mods even downloading this. :patriot:
you imagine wrong, i would never touch such stuff
you imagine wrong, i would never touch such stuff
Oh you.

[editline]04:36PM[/editline] And the shortcut that it makes me create just has hl2.exe open for a second before it closes.
Norton picked up a trojan on the install so I am a bit peeved about it.
False Positive?

Read the wiki! Source Filmmaker Wiki :v: Or post in the SFM thread! [editline]5:02[/editline] You really just need to make the shortcut to hl2.exe as specified in step 7.
you imagine wrong, i would never touch such stuff
Man why the hell you keep pbanning for alts you didn't even reply :argh:
Question: Can you actually play the beta in this download?

Oh goody pirated source games :fuckyou: What could go wrong?
Honestly, a few things could. Your movie couldn't render right or not produce sound, certain maps wouldn't load, and-not to mention- you can't run the SFM program itself. Anyway, I've managed to get many custom maps running and was thinking of making an SFM video showing the pro move of "Airstrafing" using a Demoman on that Floating Mountains map. And I was gonna make a short skit called "Water Troubles" starring Demoman and Sniper. But that's off-topic a lot. On topic: There is no confirmed way of running SFM without downloading TF2 Beta. So you're out of luck.
If you own a legit copy of tf2, and download the beta, would it be legal? this is probably a grey spot in the law
Whelp, i MAY have got it working, but it MIGHT be a pain in the bum to record as i cant POSSIBLY seem to click the jointeam buttons w/e in the viewport because of some html motd in the way. Possibly. Maybe. Not admitting to nothing.
Well its not as bad when you think about it, i mean you already bought the game. If youre like me you bought yourself a copy and got everyone you can into the game too, so downloading an old copy of the same game isnt bad thing.
you imagine wrong, i would never touch such stuff
Comedy gold.
Valve should just release this tool publicly so people can easily make tf2 videos.
Valve should just release this tool publicly so people can easily make tf2 videos.
Yeah. I imagine that their latest internal version of the tool is even better than the one we have, too.
Yeah. I imagine that their latest internal version of the tool is even better than the one we have, too.
All their tools are better than the ones they provide us, most likely. They probably use a much better version of HAMMER.
